Default Driveability Characteristics

Hello all,

just acquired a 2024 RX 350 Luxury. Still have my 2004 LS430 UL that has been my daily for the last 6 years. So getting used to a whole new world.

Two things that I wonder if are normal. First, on a moderate braking force stop there is a “thud” when I release the brake pedal after the stop. Normal?

Second, when decelerating under moderate braking effort I feel small jerks in succession that may be the transmission downshifting. Normal?

Thanks!

Sounds like a brake actuator or flat spot on the rotor.

Congratulations on your RX.
If you’re coming from an LS, like I am from an LS600h, you’ll probably need some time to get used to a few differences in the RX. I think the jerking will be normal. In my RX500, the transmission sometimes jerks slightly when braking, depending on the car’s condition on that day. It’s really nothing to worry about. 👍
