if Lexus is working on replacing the amp, is this for all vehicles? and does it mean some cars have this issue and some dont? From reading all of the comments regarding the ML audio everywhere it sure feels like everyone is having the exact same problem. Personally I can hardly hear my bass but if I turn over vol to 30+, then it comes alive.

Are you referring to the SHIFT System Malfunction message or a different one? Also curious about the amp replacement, as I have been very disappointed in the ML sound system since I took delivery of the vehicle. Thanks for the information!

Disregard my question on the System Malfunction; I just saw your previous post.

Took my wife's 23 RX 350 (ICE) in for service today. I asked about the TSB for the "Shift SystemMalfunction". The Service Advisor was very aware of the issue and added it to the scheduled maintenance. On the service receipt reprogramming the ECM as per the TSB was listed as taking 0.7 hours of work. Will have to see when it gets cold if the problem is solved.

Did your wife's RX have any warning at start-up? If not, it was quite interesting that the dealer "added it to the scheduled maintenance" by "reprogramming the ECM." Why tried to fix an issue while none existed to begin with?

Periodically last Winter my wife's RX did have the "Shift Malfunction" error pop up. Now, in the Summer, she hasn't had it reoccur. Hopefully the completion of the TSB will preclude the fault from reappearing when the cold weather returns.

Thanks for your clarification. My cars (including the RX) are always garaged when not in use, and perhaps that may explain why I have not encountered the malfunction notification since indoor temperature is generally warmer than outdoor in the winter. I also notice that you are from Michigan and the winter temps are much colder than those in New York City.

It occurs in NY too (outdoor parking). I also had the fix applied and we will see if it works this winter.
