Default Best hitch

I am a new 2023 Lexus RX350 owner and the dealer told me recently that the "hitches" were on back order. There appears to be a number of other brands that will fit the SUV. Any advice on a hitch that is a non Lexus brand? Not towing a trailer, just need it for a bike rack.

Torklift has my vote, as well. Easy to install and durable.

My buddy just bought a curt hitch and had it installed for around $400 total. He has a 2025 RX 350h Luxury - the hatch kick sensor still works too.

"etrailer Class 3 hitch" with 2" receiver bought through etrailer.com. About $200 delivered. I did not need the wiring harness, and installation took less than 20 minutes. Been using this company for probably 20 years, 5th wheel hitches on down to my '17 RX and now this '23 RX. And it does not affect the kick sensor.

You might consider adding the wiring to activate trailer lights just in case. There are several threads with part numbers. Even though you don't need these for a bike rack you may suddenly decide to rent a trailer and it will be a lot better to already have the lights set up. Plus one of the cables is apparently a lot easier to install before adding the hitch

Leap to this thread: 2025 Lexus RX450h+ Trailer Hitch - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

It has a lot of good information.

The Wiring install has 2 parts:
a cable from the connector under the car ~ $20
A control box ~ two links belowPT725-48232 Genuine Lexus Converter. Towing Wire Harnesses And Adapters. - $122

OEM Lexus: PT72548232 - Converter. Towing Wire Harnesses And Adapters - Genuine Lexus Accessory - $130

Installation instructions

This is close, but is missing some details in the photos - the upper arrows point to either a bolt, a cover, or a clip. Remove the cover and there is a bolt you need to remove. Remove the clip and it is the bold/clip in one.

Lots of plastic to remove, but pretty easy so long as you don't get agressive - finess - as they are plastic clips.

100% agree. If you want to have a hitch that isn't visible for the 99% of the time you aren't towing this is the way to go. I personally am a fan of the clean look without leaving the receiver in there unless you are about to use it. When you want to add the bike rack you just install the receiver, pop in the bolt, and you're ready to add the rack.

Honestly the stainless steel might be overkill for a hidden hitch as you won't be able to see anything if it were to rust down the road unless you left the receiver installed all the time. But after installing it last night I can tell it is a quality product.

Every other hitch I have ever owned has looked like a POS after a few months. Winter in the Rockies will do that. The Torklift SS hitch is still pristine. Well worth double what a Curt, etc. would have cost me. YMMV
