There was just a post commenting how Lexus has advised owners NOT to use it and to always carry the fob if they do.

One thing I did notice, is if you click bubble on app that says always stay signed in makes it much easier to load app fast without your face ID. Still though at times I find myself holding it towards to the steering wheel for it to work or there is delay at times.
It convenient if you run out or want move car and don't have keys on you, or you need send someone key to car.

Same experiences though with my 23 RX and my 25 RX, I will say app seems better though.

I just got a 2023 350h and downloaded the Lexus app to try out the digital key. Firstly (at least on Android) the app is a major battery hog. Secondly, since it requires internet access, there's an annoying delay between when you select a function and when the function is performed.

It's a nice backup feature to have but I definitely wouldn't use it as your daily/primary key.

Doesn't work for me. There's some speculation that digital key has contributed to the 12V battery failures, as well.

But they still charge you $275 for the "option"!

I tell folks that I can make the Digital Key work at the store, but it will not reliably work in low cell coverage areas.
Please do not use this feature. Since most people carry keys for home, work, gym lockers it really does not save
much pocket space anyway, right?

My Lexus fob is the only key I have to carry. I use Apple HomeKey and keypads to get into my home. My work uses RFID. Gym uses a phone app. The only thing left on my keyring is the Lexus fob.

The digital key is so janky.

Aside from it not being reliable that i will always have to bring the fob with me.

When locking door using touch sensitive handle, it will just beep saying there's a key inside. So I end up pressing the lock button from the fob.

I also think that this is the one of the culprit of not locking, when you press the lock button from the trunk lid and walk away. It problem only works 50% of the time. I ended up deleting my digital key and so far, the trunk lock button has been working since I deleted the DK, it hasn't failed yet.

Do you have a link?

I only use the fob, but I installed the digital key when I got my car and just checked and it is still working. I did have to do a reinstall when I upgraded my phone last October. By like others, I don't trust it.

I don't but it may be in the ES 7th gen forum which I read often.

When working properly the Digital Key has greater range than the key fob.
If you are leaving with the fob the car may detect "another key" and fail to lock.
"An answer to a question no one asked" seems to sum up the Digital Key application.

Well after reading the thread ditching the digital key. Wife's 2023 NX came with a card key which would fit in my wallet but found out for some odd reason they don't make it available for the RX.

I have the wallet card for my RX and love it but the dealers were no help in acquiring it. There are several posts on this forum if you interest. Basically I had to buy one on the Lexus OEM online parts store and get a mobile lock smith to program the card and cut a metal door key.

How did you find the locksmith that has the ability to program and did they also cut the key for you?
Thanks
