Question Control of windows from the remote app

The Lexus app shows that I have a car window open. How can I close the window remotely?

You can't control the windows from the app. If you're within FOB range you can try holding down the lock button and see if they roll up. I think that FOB function can be enabled/disabled by the dealer, though, so your results may vary.

Fob only rolls windows down if enabled by dealer or OBD2 connection. No up functionality. That would be helpfull.

I can not see the use for down.

I always loved the Remote Down feature on my Hondas. Super unpleasant getting in your car on a hot day and it's sweltering inside. By holding the unlock button you could roll down all windows as you are walking up to the car so it cools off considerably by the time you get in.

I had this enabled on a previous Lexus few years ago until the windows opened when the button on the fob in my pockets was bushed by something in my pocket. It was raining and soaked few things in the car, but luckily no serious damage.

Since then, No auto open on windows and sunroof for me....

That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks!

I was just surprised that the app shows you if the car is locked or unlocked, and let’s you change that remotely, but if it shows you a window is open, you can’t do anything about it, without physically going to the car. Also, it shows open, but doesn’t tell you how much. I saw that message and went to the car, to find that it was just a few mm from fully closed …I had accidentally touched the switch without realizing that anything happened.

It would really be nice if the car alerted you to any open windows, as soon as you walked away from the car.

Kind of like the “pocket dial” version of the car fob…

I can only imagine how you felt. Good to know that feature can be disabled.

The ability to open the windows and sunroof is very valuable on hot summer days, especially the ones when touching the steering wheel can burn your fingers!

I can, however, see the downside of an inadvertent opening. ☹️

The Lexus' leather FOB cover will reduce the possibility of inadvertently opening the windows if the fob is in your pocket, along with your family's inheritance ( all that loose change)

AKA Remote Key Fob Cover Glove

If you open the Lexus app on your phone and hit the status button it will show your tire pressures, if your doors are locked or unlocked and if windows are open or closed. It will also allow you to lock the doors from the app.

Our 2004 RX330 had that feature. Opened all windows and the moon roof.
Is that not the case anymore?

Yes, you can still ask the dealer to program it to do the same thing.
