Default Android Auto--needs to be like Carplay

Anyone else frustrated with Android Auto on infotainment--not having a dedicated button like the Carplay to get out of
Android Auto without disconnecting Wifi and Bluetooth... very frustrating--why doesn't Lexus update the infotainment
to be like Carplay?

Why do you want to disconnect Android Auto? If anything, I'd prefer it did not occasionally spontaneously drop the AA connection.

Isn't that a Google problem and not a Lexus problem?

CarPlay gives you a button to exit CarPlay because that's how Apple designed it.

Exiting from Android is necessary to change XM stations or the radio... And Lexus actually put this button in the top left as an
Infotainment update just a couple months ago.. They need to do the same for Android Auto--

I know it's not exactly what you want, but voice commands can help you. "Hey Lexus, play SiriusXM". or "Hey Lexus, open the map"

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem. I can go from Android Auto to Lexus Nav by simply pressing the Lexus Arrow icon, directly under the AA icon.

I can go from AA to XM by just pressing the musical note icon. I never have to disconnect Bluetooth.

I don't necessarily need my system to replicate Apple but the Lexus Nav system sucks. It needs a total overhaul.

I just say "Hey Lexus, play 80's on 8 on Sirius XM" or "Hey Lexus, tune to AM940", etc.

My Android Auto has an exit button (it shows as Lexus on the screen). It has been there since I got my RX500h back in 2023.

I agree that Google and Toyota need to work together to add the left car menu buttons that are present on CarPlay to Android Auto.

where is the exit button? If I press and hold the "screen/app" button in the lower left the app menu comes up which is then where the Lexus app appears and I get to the Lexus interface that way.... is this what you mean or is there a formal AA exit button

Like other have said, isn't that was the Lexus icon is for? If you want that up front and not in the app drawer, then arrange it so.

I feel like we're not understanding what you're asking or you didn't know you can arrange the quick apps on the side.

I wasn't aware you could move those from the drawer as you say. Is it just drag and drop?

I understand how to exit using the Lexus button. In Android Auto if you are using Google maps you need to press the home button to get to home, sometimes couple of times, then press Lexus button. When done you need to start Android Auto again.

In CarPlay the cars menus are always available on the left and you can switch back and forth with only one click.

See the attached pictures for CarPlay and Android Auto
