Default Heater Issues With Remote Start 2024 RX350H

To prepare for cold weather for the next morning when I get home from work I set the heater temperature to High. When I’m 5-7 minutes from walking out the door I use remote start. When I get in the car the Heater Temperature is always set on 71 and the inside of the car is not warmed up. Is this normal or a malfunction? Thanks for any help.

@EagleMan1954 , I’ll be very interested in the replies you get.
I programmed a remote start day/time via the Lexus app. I went out to the car a few minutes into the time to observe what was going on. I could see various icons on the dash illuminated looking thru the drivers window, and could hear the heat pump working. Ahhh, I thought, the Mrs. will be happy with a toasty car, but she could hardly tell it had warmed any she told me later. We did read later the remote start times out after 10 minutes, this did happen during out test, but she was in the car a handful of minutes after it shut off.
We are wondering if we need to leave the climate system on Auto with the temperature set at 90 for example.

No. The app overrides whatever climate settings you had last in the vehicle.

In the app, go to the main vehicle tab then swipe up and tap "Climate". Here you can set your preferred temperature as well as choose seat heat/cool/of, steering wheel heat/off, and defrost front/back. Tap "Save Setting" at bottom.

Next time you remote start it should set your HVAC to these settings.

It was 13 degrees F this morning, and my car was warm when I got in.

Thanks for leading me to the correct place. My wife will be grateful for knowing this, too, so she can warm up her TX. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Default Thanks for the tip

Here’s some evidence of the remote start/climate warm up system this morning, @ 18F.
This was setup via the Lexus app, it allowed 20 minutes of warm up time, we went out after about 10 minutes to see what was going on. You could clearly hear the heat pump running and see the different dash icons on.

Windshield defroster progress.
Windshield defroster progress. The rear glass was also activated.

Default Climate Programming

@hoangdeptrai I’m not really sure how it got set to 20 minutes. Here’s a she said/he said about how it “maybe” got set to 20 minutes. I remember my wife looking at the climate part of the remote start part of the app and her saying “it’s nearly at the end of the 10 minutes, it’s asking if I want another 10 minutes. I’ll tap yes”
Of course she doesn’t remember this dialogue. Maybe look at the countdown timer near the end of the 10 minutes and see if you get a dialogue bubble with something like this.

Here’s a screenshot of the app showing 20 minutes warm up time. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you.

No sure is the Hybrid differs from the ICE Rx350 in the remote start abilities, but mine (ICE) will only do 10min with the ability to do a second 10min after the first 10min expires. I have watched it wind down to 0 and I'm never asked to keep it going for another 10min. Perhaps there is a setting in the app, but I have looked pretty thoroughly and I see no option to choose 10 or 20min.
