Compatible portable CD player
I would love to try this. Do you just transfer the songs to a USB stick in a root folder, or do you have to load them onto the stick using a certain structure? Do you just plug it into any USB and the Lexus will recognize it? Thanks!
I burn the CDs using Exact Audio Copy (freeware) to FLAC format. I like EAC because it can even burn scratched up discs very good. Don’t use album art larger than 600 X 600 pixels. I then put them on the key formatted as FAT32. I use a folder for each artist in the root directory, then a folder for each album in there, and then the individual songs. I bought a teeny 32gb usb A key so you don’t even notice it plugged in and it doesn’t get in the way. It’s plugged in the car all the time. The car will show the USB key name as one of your sources. The car recognizes it fine but it takes a few minutes to read the structure into memory. They only crappy part is you can’t use voice search to find songs on the USB key. Stupid Lexus wants our subscription money to use voice search for Apple or Amazon music so no voice search for USB users like my 8 year old VW will do.
