Recently purchased a new RX500h F Sport. My detail shop discovered that the satin black finish did not continue into the inner wheel. It’s like this on all four wheels... Anyone else have this with their matte/satin black wheels from the factory?
Yes, that is correct inside isn't finished in the inside of the rim with finish from outside of rim. Question where did you purchase them and at what cost if you don't mind me asking? I am looking to get second pair for the summer as I want throw on the new Michelin Pilots 4s on it but is summer tire. I like to keep OEM set for winter and then run another set with Pilots for summer. Which should also balance the wear to avoid replace prior to lease return of it.
Odd. Must be a Lexus thing.. I didn't purchase them separately, they were pre-installed on my vehicle. On the tire subject, I wish there were better options. Came with Bridgestone Alenzas and they aren't the best.. We'll see if Michelin will expand the A/S 4 size to avoid having to run two sets of tires.
I'm assuming there's a clear coat.. Issue is that I don't believe you use the same clear coat for matte/satin finish for a gloss. I'm guessing this is why I see a ton of posts with issues of the wheel finish after a couple of years.
