Default Buyback or cash and keep?

Lexus agreed to a buyback. I have a few days to accept.
problem is there is nothing out there that i can get into right away. I have looked into a new silverado with a 6.2 and there is none out there to my liking.

or should i go for a cash and keep
problem is the lawyer said who knows what they could offer we know that i would probably be refunded all payments i have made so far plus depreciation of the vehicle value from the problem it had.

what would any of you decide in a situation like this?

Although this is a personal decision and each person could make a different call based on their circumstances, I think anyone would need more detailed information such as amount for buy back, cash to just keep, etc. With that said, if they are offering a buy back that will make you whole, I think I would lean in that direction. Don’t think I would want a vehicle that Lexus admits is a lemon and is rife with problems.

In early August we were made whole and took the buyback. 100% of funds returned. There was no vehicle replacement offer extended or that wouldve been considered.

Take the buyback. That's an interesting cross shop - an RX versus a Silverado pickup? How about a Tahoe or a Traverse?

I suspect some other manufacturers also produce SUVs - you may have a choice out there Acura dealer near me has an endless supply of MDXs.

Although our Pathfinder was a POS, the new ones dropped the CVT (which we had replaced twice) so that might be an option. Great riding vehicle. Awesome gas mileage. Quality is not there like a Lexus... oh wait.

Coming from a 6.2L as well, I miss it but would not buy it again. I got lucky and didn't drop any valves, but my buddy did and he's still waiting for a fix 5 weeks later.

There are tons of RX500 in my city, 26 at one dealer!

Tough decision, but sounds like Lexus was good about it, and maybe getting another one wouldn't be a bad idea.
I would want to know if the new one has an issue are you still good for another buy-back, or is one the limit.

Good luck!

Cheers.

Pretty surprising how many issues there seem to be with this new gen. My wife's 2017 now with about 85k on the clock and never back to the dealer for anything but maintenance.

Take the buy-back.

Then leasse something you might like for a couple of years, then have a look at the fieldagain, then keep the lease or re-visit what is available at that time.

Possibly, the EV situation may have improved by then as well.

Who knows you might opt to get the 2025 RX! Lol!
