I have had my RX350h for about a week. I have been reading the manuals and testing all available systems, functions, safety sense 3.0, etc.
When I turned on the PDA safety option last night, I noticed that on a down grade slope, while I did not have my foot on neither of the pedals it did some engine braking instead of using the brake system even though the car in front of me was probably 500 feet ahead of me. The engine braking pushed the rev up to 3000 RPM. I was expecting some use of the brake so it can go into battery regeneration ! Any of you have had any similar experience?
I really did not pay attention to the brake lights on the dash. I will test it again, but I did notice the engine braking because as you know the 350h engine is LOUD.
I think I can't see them because I have the steering wheel height very high, and that obscures the bottom of the instrument panel where these tail light indicators appear. So I turned them off.

‘Could it be that you having the steering wheel very high that it is pointing the attention sensor higher and causing the “sit up” message? The sensor is mounted on the steering column.
Yes, the sensor could indeed be shooting over the top of my head given the height of the wheel, so it thinks I am ducking down. I will try to lower the wheel a little bit to see if I like that setup.
