Hard Braking Causing Engine Shuddering

On a 2006 GS3, i've braked hard a couple of times and each time the engine was shaking...as if it would shut off or the battery was going to give up. has anyone else experienced this?

It took me a while to get used to the extreme down-shifting that the engine will do if you brake hard enough...is this what you're feeling or totally different?

i wouldn't describe it as down shifting...i get that sometimes when i drive downhill and i heard it's normal. it's as soon as i come to a stop (or maybe even slightly before) that the car shakes for a second and feels very unstable

I don't get the shaking but I do get the extreme down-shifting when you brake hard...not a good feeling.

the shaking has happened to me too but only after I gun the engine for a short while then come to a stop. And it usually happens if I do this within 10 mins of starting the car up.
