These messages I receive on the dashboard are reminiscent of the old, useless "check engine" lights.
And here I was that driving 30mins was painful.
Useless check engine lights? That's a new one for me.

Just keep in mind that these Lexus issues will only be fixed for free while the car is under warranty, they are not recalls, but TSBs.
Good luck and remember that complaining on internet wont get the issue resolved.

In addition to Shifter error, my vin came up for Service Action 24LC03 which is being addressed.
Finally, I experienced Black infotainment display on start up on two occasions, and looks like there are multimedia updates detailed in L-SB-0006-23/L-SB-0027-24 bulletins that may address that.
Just as computers are constantly being updated for bugs/vulnerabilities, so do these cars, more computers than cars nowadays.
Wish that the updates can be just pushed like Tesla's, but I will take free fixes for now.

Finally, car is being evaluated for cracked windshield.

I had the shifter software done yesterday but won't know if it works until winter. They also ordered the new wiper motors for me to fix the intermittent wiper failure, so far that has been the most annoying thing on the car so looking forward to getting it fixed.

@lexusnyca Is there a TSB for the intermittent wiper failure? Or did you just complain until they ordered the wiper motors?

Just because there is a TSB for the issue, does not mean your car has a problem. It also could mean that your car is not yet exhibiting the issue, but will in the future.
I tried playing around with my wipers, lucky it was raining on my way to the dealer. The speed of action of wipers varied based on intensity of the rain, so I think the feature
is also working on my car.

It would be useful if somebody who has the issue, could describe it in exact details, what position the wiper switch is in, and then what position is intensity wiper subswitch is in.
TSB are simply "shortcuts" for Lexus tech's to identify "known" issues, without spending too much time trying to diagnose the issue from scratch.

So the way it fails is - its fine as long as the rain stays at a constant rate. But once the rain lets up, or speeds up, and the wiper rate has to change based on that, eventually the system gives up and stops wiping at all. The only way to reset it is to turn the wipers off, then back on, then it starts working again until the next pattern requiring the sweep rate to change. Super annoying. I took a 2+ hour drive last weekend in the rain to NJ, I must have cycled the wipers on/off 10 times.

It for sure works worse than any rain sensing vehicles I’ve owned. Any other 2024 owners having this problem?

My wipers acted the way you describe, then on a recent trip they started working properly (even with widely varying rain), no recycling required (which is definitely annoying). I'm reserving most of my ire at the "error" notifications which take up much of the screen and keep coming back on even when you click them off.

Two things
1. yes, while you are technically correct that TSB does not currently apply, TSBs are living breathing documents. They document issues that have been found and confirmed, its possible that this issue have not been confirmed in 2024 MY yet, but you can definitely take it to the dealer with your complaint.
2. Never mind the rain, all you need is a garden hose, iirc the sensor should be in the upper middle section of the windshield. Just spray with various effort/spray pattern/intensity and confirm your findings.

good luck.

My car threw up shifter messages year around, last one was the day I dropped it off at the dealer 5 days ago. There is some correlation to the message and car sitting around for prolonged period of time, but it definitely happened in all types of weather for me.

Well I spoke too soon. The intermittent rain sensor got overwhelmed yesterday in a sudden downpour and simply stopped wiping. Had to power on/off the wipers.

Yes, the shifter message is related to battery charge state. Low battery, like an idle car in the winter - pops it up. In the warmer months I never saw it.

that's certainly not true for my non hybrid 2023 RX....I don't think it has anything to do with the battery and everything to do with a lousy sensor...I could drive the car for hours, put it in the garage (which was very cold), get the message a few hours later.
