I have similar issue with my Lexus RX350. Frequent appearance of system malfunction during engine stop/start. BSM and emergency brake stops working. Visited dealer 5 times. Battery changed and less frequent now. But the issue observed when battery voltage is very low. Which is sign of electrical issue or weak battery for this engine to start. No solution from lexus. I hate this car from; from the first day brand new had problematic front strut assembly and replaced after 3 months. Now this issue which was there from beginning. Now at 4000km still persists. Every month I visited dealer two times. Nothing!
A new battery didn't fix it? I am surprised. What's being described here in indicative of a weak battery - all these electronic systems can't actually be going bad at the same time, it's the battery. I assume this car has an AGM? It's either the battery, or the alternator charging software for it.
UPDATE: Dealer had the car for 2 weeks, during the first few days I was told there was lots of comms between the dealership and corporate - but no fix yet. Today's update is that the issue is a cams timing issue/poss engine issue. Moments later, received the word that parts are on order: cam gear; bolt and oil control valve/solenoid. Stay tuned...

did they first try two oil changes to remove contaminates from assembly, by chance?

I had an opportunity to take my wife’s car on a road trip 660 miles up north to Oregon but she needed it for work. It may have been a good opportunity to try and see if any gremlins would come out during the trip. As for now it’s being used only for local city driving which means a lot of stop and go.
Luckily we haven’t seen any issues yet pop up again regarding this same system malfunction message but I don’t think it was invoked by a sensor up front as what another fellow member stated. It was truly something internally caused.
STILL WAITING. NO LONGER PATIENT.
Approaching Week 8 here for our RX awaiting repair. Backorder of parts is the reason we're told. Parts finally arrived two days ago.
Informed that Master technician will repair this week. We will see. Good to see that others are experiencing resolution.
Also have read that this is a 'common' problem on the Highlander with this engine. At what point, is an issue an official recall? After so many claims or what?

It would not be the alternator - the RX hybrids don't have one.
Yes! I experienced this exact same "system malfunction" message on my new 2023 Lexus RX 350. I have had it for one month only! Exact message was "system malfunction, driver seat monitor malfunction". And the check engine light is on.
Weather is not an issue. Car is in my garage in Tucson, 80 degrees outside.
I called the local Lexus Service department and asked for a call back.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2023 RX350 and I’ve only had the car 2 months. Just drive locally on surface streets and freeway. I will be bringing to dealer next week.
something may have pissed of the sensors thinking it had a malfunction. Luckily I haven’t seen the error in the past 6 months. However I will be finally getting my 2nd key at dealership this weekend. Maybe I can ask about this error while I’m there.

I've had my 500H for about 4 weeks now and as a Traveling Nurse have been averaging 1K miles weekly and absolutely loving it. This was my first Lexus and my main concerns were reliability....but it definitely helped having the F Sport package bc it looks and drives like a beast and spending 12-16 hrs daily in the car its like my 2nd home. Had my Suntek PPF full front, tints and Ceramic to the car as well.. $4K later i was living my best life and feeling good. Got my first oil change at 2200 miles just to be safe. Life was very good!
Last night while i was out for a quick errand....while driving at about 40 mph the entire drivers display lit up with what seemed like 100 alerts/lights. Mostly saying "Hybrid System Malfunction" and "Steering power loss" and the check engine light. The steering became very stiff and the accelerator got hard to press down. I immediately pulled over and sat there for a few just reading and taking pics. I then turned the engine off and waited another few mins....hoping this was a fluke,.
But when i restarted the engine all the lights came back on telling me to take the car to the dealer ASAP. This was 10p at night. i went home and made an appt at Lexus dealer for 7a the next am. I then reconsidered and called the next morning Lexus roadside assistance thinking better to let them tow it in then me driving. Considering the storms we were having i give Lexus much credit as they showed up for the tow 90 mins after i called. Its now been about 6 hours since they had my car and i just got told it going to "take some time to examine and find problem so i can come in and get my loaner".
I am a little disappointed bc for $70K i purposely got a Lexus to avoid these types of problems i had had with GMC, Dodge etc over the last decade. I loive Nursing and i love driving for a living but when car problems start it makes me regret it all!!
To switch all my supplies out of my car to a loaner is a pain. But, Im going to stay positive that this can all work out fine....even after reading some other posts with similar probs. IDK if this is just the 500h F Spo
rts or what?
