Default Cracked Front Camera

Just found out my front camera was cracked. $1200 to replace. Does anyone have any ideas to protect this camera in the front bumper. I'v never had this happen before and it's a pretty expensive repair.

Ouch! $1200

I do not think PPF would have helped here. Like another poster said it was the “golden” rock destined to hit where it did.

Better to have 10 mm PPF than not I would say. Maybe the next rock will be a dull golden colour.

Clean the broken glass out and get some kind the lens cover and glue it on, look for the correct size or a little bigger.

For example the lens cover from Ringke

If that camera is simply for video, and serves a non-vital purpose (rule out any self driving or collision detection purposes--those are usually integrated behind the windshield), you can probably just come up with some sort of protective clear glass cover. Probably easier said than done. but yeah how unlucky to get a rock in that exact spot.

It should be for video purpose only (360 camera and when you just put it on D at a very low speed), I wonder why Lexus didn't put any protective cover on it...
I agree with other suggestions of putting on some type of cell phone camera cover or a clear plastic case, or I would put in a small piece of cell phone glass screen protector that stick to the plastic around the camera.
