In the Q for a 2023 RX350h Luxury. I have not seen the color (Copper Crest) in person. Does it have any metallic in it? I really like the pictures and videos of it. I have a 2014ES in Matador Red Mica that looks great in the sun. Thoughts on Copper Crest vs MRM or Iridium?

 

I have not seen the Copper color in real life. My 350h Luxury is Iridium and it is packed with metal flake. I am betting the copper color is, too!

Yes, the copper has alot of "pop" in it. Its a color for someone who likes to get noticed.

 

I have a 2 week old 350h premium + in copper crest. It's metallic and I love the color. Just got tired of boring greys and white. You really should look at one in person and in the sun. Some people love it and others not so much.

 

My first option of an RX in stock was this color. My wife didn't like it so it caused me to back out. When I picked up the one that I purchased, I saw one in this color in the showroom and I'm so thankful that I decided against it. It looked pink in the dealership lighting showroom environment. It's all a matter of taste, but I would have walked away from it if I showed up and saw that it looks pink in certain light.

 

Agree, I like the color, some don't. It's like the old spindle grill. I was not a fan of the "predator" style grill but like the new one. My brother owns a 2019 RX450h "predator" that he loves. It's kind of you either love it or hate it.

It HAS metallic, as long as it's maintained with proper coating on the finish regularly it will be fine plus its garaged most of the time. You are right, it does look like a brand new penny in the bright sun. lol

Is that a flake?

Looks like a metallic flake to me. i have the iridium and there is a lot of flake seen in the sun light.

 

My paint looks metallic but I'm no paint expert and don't honestly know the difference.

 

I dunno man, in person you don't see shiny metallic pop like you do on other paints. Just super coppery like a shiny penny.

 

Picked up my new RX 350h yesterday. Today, at Costco, after closing the trunk, a man walks up to me and asks what color my car is.
I said, "Copper Crest".
He said, "Copper Crust. Beautiful color, saw it on TV in that Lexus ad, love it, beautiful color. Copper Crust."
I said, "Thanks. Got it yesterday."
He shook my hand with a hearty, "Congratulations!"
After a few more words of admiration, he walked back to his car, looking backwards.

This was all quite an amusing surprise.
