Was cleaning up the car today and noticed this piece of blue plastic material hanging off the inside of the hatch. Is is probably 1/8" thick, maybe less, flexible. I pulled on it but didn't want to yank on it too hard for fear of damaging something inside. Could this be something missed during the PDI?
Thicker than expected for tape, but flexible and sort of spongy, kind of like a piece of soft plastic strip. No tackiness on the back side either. Seems to be coming from inside the hatch.
Just checked again and there IS some tackiness on the back. Might be some sort of trim bit? The blue is on the front only, rear is black. I can twist it easily enough.
Almost time for the spring service/tire swap. Will let the dealership know about it and advise at that time. Was hoping someone else here saw something similar on theirs.
I had the same piece of tape. Pointed it out to the dealer. Mechanic removed it and stated that it was not removed during vehicle prep and is there for shipping when they leave the factory. Just peel it off.
Ha! This makes me think of when I was a mechanic at a Cadillac/Oldsmobile dealer back in the 60s. Many cars would come from the factory with nuts & bolts, carburetor parts and tools etc. left on top of the intake manifold. A little piece of tape doesn't seem so bad!

Was at the dealership the other day and they had a look. They don't know what it is, don't think it's PDI stuff missed. Were checking with Lexus Canada and will advise when I bring the car in for spring service next month. Mechanic did peel it off.
