Screen not working - Help Please!
Tried the suggested solution above without success. Other suggestions? Thank you
I have already tried all the rebooting tips discussed in the different forums. YouTube tik tok you name it. I purchased a new screen unit. I’m just worried I ordered the wrong part. I don’t know if I was supposed to order the part connected to the cd player. Been riding in silence for a year with a commute of over an hour to work🫠 I appreciate you taking the time to read and reply. Hopefully your suggestion can help someone else experiencing something similar🙏🏼
My battery died & I changed it, and suddenly the Navigation screen does not work. When you start the car, the Lexus logo shows up normally on the screen and the back up camera works. However, the navigation, bluetooth, radio, etc do not work at all. The screen is just black. It all worked perfectly prior to the battery change.
I brought it in to 2 different Lexus dealers and they both said I need a new screen because the battery change may have "shorted" the navigation system. I am an engineer and this makes no sense to me. I really think it is a computer issue, but I can't get it to work. I have checked all the fuses and tried unplugging the battery & restarting the car several times. This absolutely ridiculous in my opinion, and enough reason that I would NEVER buy another Lexus again. They have absolutely no customer service since my warranty just expired.
I have looked this up here & other websites online. I have tried all the suggested fixes to no avail.
Anyone with any suggestions? Do you really think the navigation is "shorted" as they say?

I learned on my first high value vehicle to never be without the platinum warranty
Never
Just one electronic device failure will pay the cost of the extended warranty two or three times over
This just happened to my 2017 RX-450h, I purchased it used in April, and had no issues with it. But the head unit failed out of the blue. the reverse mirror still displays fine on screen, but nothing else. I took it into the dealership and they charged me two hours worth of diagnostics to tell me they couldn't fix it and I would need to purchase a new one, which would cost $5000 for parts and labor... which is not happening since I cannot afford it that. I'd rather trade in this vehicle for another one than spend $5000 to get a new head unit which has a high likelihood of failure for no reason.
Is there a third party option or software for my Lexus? On a side grip I am tired of messages flooding my dash board anything there is a malfunction due to weather since as camera or cruise control. I like the vehicle itself, but all these extra technology issues I never experienced with my 2nd or 3rd gen RX makes me warry to ever again buy a newer lexus.

My 2012 ISF had an Air Conditioning problem that the dealership couldn't fix. They flew a Lexus guy in and tore my car apart to fix it. My service rep told me it would have been almost 8.000 in parts and labor
As far as your 2017. Who is going to buy the vehicle without the screen working?
Take a look here and see if there are any repair place for the control panel

Never buy a Lexus without the warranty. Be it the Factory. Or the 2 years of Certified Pre own one

Or is it the control panel?
The dealership put on the invoice.
Suspect audio/nav/radio receiver assembly has failed. The quote for parts and labour says ‘
replacement of your vehicles radio head unit”

I noticed the USB / charging ports under the center console glove box are also not functioning. Would these two issues be related?
Also how do I know which models would fit/work as a replacement? Mine is a P11556 but I am seeing there are many different models that all look the same from this generation?

While the dealer charged me $500 and couldn't fix it and offered to replace it for over 5 grand. I sent it these guys for repair. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/175267493803
They were familiar with the issue as it appears to be common and were able to repair the unit and send it back to me with quick turn around time. Works perfectly fine again.
"This is a common issue caused by an electrical surge in the vehicle. The unit does not have an internal circuit protection for voltage. We have installed our own circuit protection so you should be good for the future"

So I spoke too soon. Seem to have another issue now, albeit less severe. Was working fine for two weeks. Now twice while driving the head unit just seems to shut down and go into a cycling reboot. I'll see the lexus logo, caution prompt and get about 10 seconds of audio before it starts the reboot again. Manually holding the audio button for 10 seconds to force a restart doesn't help. Kinda seem like it's already doing that on it's own?
Turning the vehicle off completely for five minutes or so seems to hard reset it and then it comes back to life working perfectly fine again. So far this rebooting failure loop has happened twice in the last 3 weeks, and both times killing the vehicle for a short period of time fixes it.
Any idea what this could be?

Indeed that is what is happening. Any idea if that refers to the "Software" Update or "Gracenote" ? I can check the version of Gracenote, but under software I see no update history and can't seem to check the version of the current software.
