I can just imagine the highlighted warning in the owners manual - DO NOT CHANGE THE BATTERY UNLESS YOU ARE AT A LEXUS DEALERSHIP. Something else is going on here.
With these new electronic cars you cannot cut off the power altogether, even with a dead battery there is enough to keep the electronics alive.
I don't know if it's a matter of keeping the settings or something else, but the new CTek chargers have a button that will keep the electronics supplied with power if you change the battery yourself, mine doesn't have it, too old I guess. Don't you love technology!?

Yes i agree, but I used an independent Toyota/Lexus garage. Any electronic repair I would always have the Lexus dealer handle, because we are talking nickles and dimes savings vs big issues if they screw up. Hybrids take repairs to a new level that I don;t want to risk.

I never heard of an independent Lexus garage. I thought they had to be a franchised dealer.

Miss spoke,,,I meant an independent garage that works exclusively on Toyota/Lexus products. They are all around, Toyota trained, use Toyota parts and charge less than a dealer.

Default Blank screen

I brought it in to 2 different Lexus dealers and they both said I need a new screen because the battery change may have "shorted" the navigation system. I am an engineer and this makes no sense to me. I really think it is a computer issue, but I can't get it to work. I have checked all the fuses and tried unplugging the battery & restarting the car several times. This absolutely ridiculous in my opinion, and enough reason that I would NEVER buy another Lexus again. They have absolutely no customer service since my warranty just expired.
I have looked this up here & other websites online. I have tried all the suggested fixes to no avail.
Anyone with any suggestions? Do you really think the navigation is "shorted" as they say?

hey man i have the same problem. Were you able to fix this problem?

Tried disconnecting battery for 13 minutes reconnect same issue. Held power button on radio for 10+ seconds same problems? Help. Thanks ps screen does not look completely black, sort of a very vert very dark blue, or it could be my eyesight.

Checked all fuses all ok. Is there any other place for fuses except under hood?

Original. Good voltage, have not had it load tested. Car starts and runs fine.

The reason I ask is a battery can test good and start the car. But still causes problems. My personal vehicles have had radio presets, clock won’t keep time, window switch reset, Nav display resets.

The car still ran and started ok.

I assume you reset the system by holding the power off button on the radio until it shows the reset process. Sometimes I have to rest the system because it does not recognize something in the USB slot or the screen just goes blank.

The battery is original and 5+ years old, maybe time for replacement. Tried different reset options, none worked, tried with vehicle running and held radio power button for 20 seconds, tried disconnecting battery for 1 hour, then reconnected and press start button without putting brake on , accessory mode, then held power radio button, nothing. When starting Lexus logo comes up for a few seconds then blank, also backup camera displays fine.
