I suggest looking at the last few pages of the pricing sticky thread of the top of this forum.

Lexus is not doing the usual 4th year of cycle "mid cycle" refresh. We will be adding rear kick sensor and a couple of technical changes. No Carplay.

We do not expect a mid cycle for nineteen...the first time this is happening. We will probably see a kick sensor and minor technical changes. 2020 seems to be the year.

I noticed it is no longer possible to "BUILD" a Lexus RX on Lexus.com. Could be possible the website will be updated with 2019MY soon.

Not saying you are wrong but is this your hunch or do you actually have a reliable source?

Went through the order guide this morning with a salesman and can confirm NO CARPLAY in 2019. This is mind-boggling to me. I've driven a Lexus for 19 years and have no choice but to switch brands because of this.

Can someone explain to me the benefit of CarPlay, or Android Auto? To me, the only thing that is nice about it, is that it's the same user interface no matter what car you're in, vs having a proprietary interface in each vehicle. If you only drive 1 car regularly, I don't see the benefit. What else does it do so much better than the standard interface that makes it so important?

This really should be in a separate thread, but for me, it's the ease of use as well as the fact that the interface doesn't become obsolete - it's based on the iOS on your phone and as long as you keep your phone software updated, the in car experience will be mostly current. I owned a 2005 RX with navigation and now have a 2012 IS with navigation so I know all about obsolete in-car infotainment.

Fair enough. I guess I personally don't use the in car navigation, I just use the bluetooth to announce the route through the speakers, so I've never been concerned with that.
