I'd love to pull the trigger on a new RX350 F Sport, but think I'm going to hold off for a 2019. If history repeats itself, we might see a refresh for 2019 towards the end of the year.

The 2019 will undoubtably be updated, the unknown is when it will be out, October like usual, or late January like they did with 2018. Also unknown what will change, tail lights, grill are likely, and they might drop the mouse pad. The more they change, the less it will be discounted off MRSP for a while.

2019 NX website updated and it looks like zero updates. No Carplay.

2019 NX is just a carry over from last year and got a mid model change for 2018 model year. Lexus will typically only add in big features like Carplay during a minor or major model change.

It looks like production of 2019 has already started. Wanted to custom order 2018 and dealer said Lex doesn't accept '18 any more, only 2019.

Did you ask them if the '19s were any different?

The custom orders are built in about 3 months and that would put them to September. If they do come out with the redesign then MY18 is probably be one of the shortest runs ever...

Also, does anyone know how long the Cambridge factory would take to switch between model years. I would imagine that the break will be at least of a few weeks....

MY17 was in production for 16 months, that is why MY18 might be shorter to put MY19 release date back on normal (fall) schedule.

I called friend who works for Lexus (thought not high enough to know exact changes) and it is true that you can no longer order the 2018 special. You can not order a 2019 special though either, and she said you historically cannot special order the next year model until they get their first allocation, which is 3 weeks or so before they arrive on a truck from Canada. Her prediction was that the car WILL come out in September period, and orders taken August, but no promises, expected changes are healights/tall lights, small grill change, next generation of safety, and touchpad to replace the mouse that had space under it to only hold older iPhone size tops. No word on CarPlay but it's likely IMO. All said, I wouldn't expect a big discount on this car for a while. It will be popular.

FYI from checking other forums here, they just dropped the NX on Lexus' site to the 2019 model. No changes, No CarPlay. It got refreshed last year, but was hopeful for Lexus they'd drop in the CarPlay for 2019 on all their models.

true, also Lexus Canada listed 2019 NX in their site. Hopefully 2019 RX shows up soon.

Very interesting that the NX didn't get CarPlay, because the early articles suggested that the basic requirement for CarPlay would be Enform 2.0, which the NX has. Perhaps like the Alexa skill they will go back and add to models that have it.

https://lexusenthusiast.com/2018/01/...exus-vehicles/

"Select Lexus vehicles will be getting Apple CarPlay compatibility starting with the 2019 model year. The automotive iPhone interface will be added to the Lexus Enform 2.0 software, but does not appear to be backwards-compatible with existing vehicles already sold with that system."

Lexus Canada bumped its discount to $4000 from $1000 starting June 1st. (for some trims- cash purchase)
  • Delivery Credit ($1,000)
  • Incentive for Cash Customers ($3,000)
Usually these kind of discounts appear when new year/model are about to come.
My guess is they are trying to sell as much as possible before MY2019.
This might be a sign that MY2019 might come early fall as opposes to Jan 2019.
