Is lexus going to change the look of RX350 in 2019 model

 

No, to soon for a body change.

 

It'll be too soon for a full model change, but it's about right for a mild refresh; similar to the NX this year. Maybe some tech updates like a higher resolution display and all digital dash. We might see ideas from the new Toyota models released recently.

 

That's what my salesperson kind of let me know when he tried to change my '16 lease to a '17 because they were doing a clearing sale.
Told him not interested even if it is a lower monthly payment. (Did not want to get into having a vehicle with problems when mine has none, and I am willing to buyback at the end of the lease to keep it at least 5 years)

He then told be that by then it will have a relooking starting from 2019...

 

It does makes sense because usually Lexus has a mid cycle refresh at year 4. Normally Lexus has a 6 year cycle then completely change the car. so for RX, we got 2016, 2017 and 2018. 2019 is due for mid cycle changes.

Same thing happened with 2018 NX

the question is when the 2019 comes out? Sep this year along with all other 2019 Lexus cars OR January 2019 to follow this year suit.
2017 RX was on sale for 15 months which is odd. from Sep 2016 to Dec 2017 (2018 came out Jan 2018 instead of Sep 2017)
normally it is 12 months until next model year comes out.

 

Any idea when we can expect RX refresh? 2019 maybe?

 

No one knows at this time and it is all speculations. I hope they add HD 1080p cameras everywhere (they are so freaking cheap to make) instead of poor quality backup camera for example on my 2017 RX. Hopefully they also add features to Canadian version that already in US version of RX like live traffic (not available in Canada) which is a feature even on cheap Hondas. Lexus going to lose a lot of market share from young buyers like myself if they don't catch up to technological game like other manufactures.

 

Mid model refresh is 100% happening for 2019 RX. In Canada at least, the 2019 model will get Lexus Enform and yes, live traffic maps (finally..)

 

My guess for 2019 MY is:

1. Updated front and rear fascia
2. Updated Enform w/ Apple CarPlay inlc higher res rear camera
3. Foot activated rear door open

 

I just hope they redesign the interior middle console like they did on the previous RX refresh. I love the look of the car but the middle consoles reminds me of a 90 audi. NX interior looks a lot better.

Yes, I would like to have something apple CarPlay/ Android. My friend's Honda has that feature which I like it very much. If 2019 does not have that then I may look into Acura MDX.

Lexus is so behind!

 

I think it's a marketing issue which I don't completely understand and not that they're "so behind". I ownded a Honda for a short time and if you want to see "so behind", try one. I dumped it after nine months.
