According to the link above, the Lexus UX and RX will be unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show in early November. They also have an image rendering of the RX-L which is very different from the regular RX.

The rumor mill says we'll likely see a three-row RX in Tokyo, and I don't think this is too much of a stretch — pardon the pun. I remember there was lots of chatter about this when the RC hit the market, as dealers wanted one as opposed to the sportier coup. And given the popularity of the segment right now, it seems like a no-brainer for Lexus. What do you think?
Does any one have any info on when the plant(s) will quit producing the 17 model and retool for the 18? I doubt there is much to retool but wondering if all of the 17s have been built yet or not. Thanks for any info.
Even if there are no changes and if no retooling is necessary, the factories will still have to change over to making vehicles with 2018 VIN numbers, instead of ones with 2017 VIN numbers.
If the factories have not already done that, my guess is that it will be happening soon. A couple of weeks ago, I had a conversation with a sales manager at a Lexus dealership. He said that, for the most part, the 2017 vehicles that he currently had in his inventory were all of the 2017s that he would be getting. He said that he had a few cars that he had wanted in his inventory that he had to special order because they included option combinations that would not have been built in any of the regular production runs, and he said that those few cars were still trickling in, but that, other than those few, he would not be getting other larger shipments of 2017 vehicles.

Or...
Lexus needs to offer an extended wheelbase model of the RX to accomodate a third row. I say extend the wheelbase so that headroom would be more reasonable before the slope of the roof and more legroom for third row to make them more usable. I don't predict this to happen for the 2018MY, but it might be a possibility for the midcycle refresh for 2019 or 2020MY.
If I really needed a 3-row SUV right now, I would get the Audi Q7 or Volvo XC90. Reliability past warranty wouldn't be a concern for someone leasing or selling the car before the warranty runs out.
Talked to a local dealer about 2018s and she said Lexus isn't making FWD F-Sports anymore. If not sure if he was trying to push to get me to buy a 2017 now or if this is really true? If so, seems like the FWD F-Sports only went into production for 2017 and they're already getting rid of. Wonder if this is due to sales or requests in the market.

Yes, AWD only. 2016s came out with only AWD, 2017 came out with AWD and FWD. AWD is higher priced and requires all tires be replaced if you have a flat tire or the tires/vehicle starts to have issues of uneven wearing. In So Cal, I don't really see a need for the AWD for daily street driving.
