Your thoughts (marks on hood)
Hey guys We picked up our car and then headed on a three day road trip we did it notice this on the hood at pick up. Does your car look like this ever? I'm about to send them to my salesperson

The car needs to be polished properly, not by the Lexus hack that did that! I would be freaking out! The person on the other end of the polisher should never touch a car!

If you're still at the dealership then I would advise not to sign for it. I always take at least 20 minutes to inspect carefully everywhere on a new car before signing the dotted line and drive it out, if something doesn't look right then I would not take it, I pay for a new car and expect to get a new car with no scratch, dent or damage of any kind.
But if you already took the car and already went on a road trip then it's going to be a bit difficult to get them to admit that those scratches/streaks were there when you took the car, were those pictures taken before you drove it out of the dealership? You should certainly bring it back to the dealership and tell them to "fix" it.

Those marks are from a polisher. Depending on time of delivery they could be hard to see. Unless the new owner got out a polisher and went to town, the dealer did this as part of the delivery....and they know it!
Good thing it can be fixed, but I doubt they dealer knows how. Make sure they just don't cover it up, which is what they will try to do. I would request it goes to the body shop as they have more experience in this area....or I hope they do??

that's called a crappy car wash job with swirls.
Try washing the car and if it's still there go back and tell them look what they did and have them fix it. They might just apply wax over it which covers it up but if you wash it again and it's still there that means they didn't do the job.
Best thing is to compound and polish it with a buffer. It removes a thin layer of your clear coat which removes the swirl marks. NOT something you want with a brand new car.

No offense to the new owner but if they are unsure what the marks are, they should not be trying to remove them. The dealer should review their delivery process and fix this for the customer. At this point there is no reason not to polish a new car. Most have been sitting around for months.

Thank you everyone. I have sent the pictures to my sales lady. I haven't heard back from her. We have been driving for 3 days. When we return in two weeks, we will bring it back to the dealership. There aren't any rust spots, that I've noticed, probably just a bunch of dead bugs

Surely if they are anything like our Lexus dealers in Australia they will bend over backwards to fix it and get rid of the buffer marks for you ....have a great trip

I would be asking WHY they buffed the hood.
There had to be a reason the would do this to a brand new vehicle.
