Anyone else wish Lexus put a little more effort in making the speaker grilles look more expensive/fancy for the Mark Levinson system? Look at Audi and BMW with Bang & Olufsen with their rising tweeters and metal speaker grilles. Mercedes does a similar metal treatment for their Burmeister system.

Covers are OK for me. The one's in the front doors are very wear resistant as I can not tell you how many times the tip of my shoe has hit them but they still look like new.

The one above would not fare so well.

 

I like the more subdued look that Lexus comes with from the factory. This is OK if that's what you like, but it's too cheesy for me. I'm more interested in how good it sounds vs. how good it looks, but that's just me...

 

Lexus is changing this with the new LS500 ... the ML speaker grills on the new LS are beautiful.

 

Personally I wish Lexus would not have added the Mark Levinson badges to the dash.

I had ordered all 8 metal grills for $86 with the tweeters too.

 

Cant seem to select any options for that website.

 

Click on the various selections such as rings or woofer grilles or tweeter grilles and then add to cart.

 

Did you end up installing these speaker grills and if so, is it as simple as removing the sticker backing and placing it on top of the existing grills?

Do you need to place the silver ring on first before the speaker plate cover?

I am still waiting for the package from China. My F-sport came with OEM rings. I would assume that you would just stick the chrome grille directly to the OEM's black metal grill. I shall find out soon.

 

the ebay one say it has 3m tape?
I ordered from China also and awaiting it. I didn't buy the Ring, but I do have Fsport. I think the Ring is optional as you can install it without the full chrome. See the pictures on the website to see what I mean. There's one installed without the full chrome and on the full chrome one it doesnt have the ring
