Default Certified 2016's

Has anyone purchased a used 16? We have a nice 08 GX but wife wants to get back to an RX. Looked at a couple in our area but there aren't too many and the prices are a high. Seems to be more of a selection in the Ct, NY, PA region.

Just looking for any pricing or thoughts on buying/trading long distance.

I doubt you would realize any significant savings on a '16 RX and there is probably a very slim selection of used ones. Any you find now are probably dealer demos. If you are looking to finance or lease, the rates on a new RX will be much better then used.

The '17 models also get Lexus Safety Sense as standard, which is an added bonus.

Bay Area lexus dealers do have '16 RX 35/450, dealers I checked were part of Lexus One program so they weren't willing to reduce price by $100. Also price between used 16 and new 17 were just 3-4K diff so went with new one.

We just got a '16 CPO L/Certified Luxury package, basically fully loaded (12.3" screen, pano roof, pano monitor, HUD, ML stereo, etc). It was a dealer loaner vehicle with less than 10k miles and is pretty immaculate condition to be honest. Final price was $46.8k. Comparable MSRP for this package for '17 new would be $59k at least. L/Certified also get 6 year unlimited mileage warranty compared to the 4 year/50k mi warranty for the '17. For my '16, my warranty runs to 2022. You also get the next 4 services free on L/Certified versus the first 2 services (5K, 10K) on the '17. For the '16 at this mileage, this ends up covering the more expensive 30k mi service (as well as 15K, 20K, 25K). L/Certified is also running a special on financing this month 1.9/60mo, which was better than the 2.9/72mo being offered on new. If this interests you, look at the dealer used inventory in the neighboring states to you, these don't seem to be showing up on truecar.

Standard doesn't mean that it's free. Base price went up about $1,125.00.

I just picked up a loaded 2016 with 14,000 miles on it L/ Certified. Longer warranty than a new one. No way I was going to buy new with that deal. This is my second Lexus Certified RX.

Congrats,
That is an awesome deal. Why buy new when you can get an almost new for thousands less and also save on the new car depreciation.
Thank You

Agreed, but if you think about the individual cost for LKA, DRCC, PCS, auto-high beams, etc. this increase in base price is cheaper than those options separately. In Canada, those options were only available on the highest trim levels.

Just picked up a 2016 L/Certified RX350 AWD almost fully loaded with premium pkg with 27,000 miles. Bought it in the Bay area was able to jump on the 1.9% financing deal that ends today. Got it for 43,000+tax and fees, seems the comparable 2017 model would have been $54,000. There were a few others on the lot with less features and less mileage but higher price tag.

Ended up buying a 2016 in NY, 9000 miles has all the right stuff. Dealer had 5 of them, went to see a white with black interior 20" wheels. wife didn't like the black but they had a white parchment with 18". Gave me a little more than the dealers in my area quoted for my GX but didn't want the 18's. Sales rep brought over sales manager asked what they could do make a deal.....told them put new 20's on and we'd take it. they agreed. we now own it.

You just gave me major warranty FOMO. What dealership did you get yours from? I wonder if it's just a warranty special at select dealerships. Our local dealership does not have this warranty offering (ex. http://www.sterlingmccalllexus.com/lcertified).

You're right. Good eye. I was confused about the footnotes "... [2] 2 years/unlimited miles from your L/Certified vehicle date of purchase. Coverage begins after completion of the 4-year/50,000 new vehicle Basic Warranty. See your Lexus dealer for details." but the footnote [2] isn't used anywhere on the page. Above it does say "CONFIDENTLY BACKED...Because every L/Certified by Lexus Vehicle undergoes a comprehensive 161 point inspection, we can comfortably sell them with an unlimited mileage vehicle warranty up to 6 years." Thanks!
