I'm having a similar problem on startup after applying the recent update. Seems to just be an annoyance at startup so I'll have it fixed at my next scheduled service. See here:
It happened three times with my 2018 RX 450h; the navigation screen goes pink and shutdown. Music from USB was playing at the time when it happened. Brought to dealer twice, they couldn’t reproduce the issue. They asked me to drive for a month without iPhone 7 paired to the system and no USB plugged in.
The dealership indicated that if nothing go wrong during that month then my iPhone 7 or the Kingston USB drive was the culprit; effectively clearing Lexus of any responsibilities. The issue happened first at 5000 miles; and twice after that. Lexus didn’t say that you can buy a Lexus and not to use it with iPhone 7 or USB drive! Any one out there with similar issue?
I wonder if anyone running into this issue I like me. The whole audio and Navigation system and the display will showing Pink, and the system rebooted by itself while I was driving. It happened when I tried to stream music from my iPad and connect the phone to system via Bluetooth at the same times. I brought it to the dealer, they found that there was something wrong with radio unit. they are going to order the unit and replace it.
@PeterPhan, Did the new unit resolve your issue? Thanks
@PeterPhan Thanks,
Unfortunately, my Lexus dealer (or at least the service advisor) still denying anything is wrong with my RX450h entertainment system. They wanted me to drive the vehicle for a month without phone or USB attached; if nothing goes wrong during that time, they claimed prematurely that My iPhone 7 or the USB is to blame!
Lexus sold me a RX450h then now told me to drive it without iPhone or USB; sound like deceptive advertising here!

I think your problem is the dealer, try going to another one who is more customer oriented.
Navigation screen goes dark again recently; talk to Lexus today. They all (dealership/corporate) said the same thing: my iPhone is to blame, corrupted iPhone. This seems like the easy cheap way out for Lexus!
I now regret buying the Lexus, will stay away!

What proof do you have that they are wrong?!
I doubt that a company this big has not done its homework to ensure that their system is compatible with all types of cell phones, especially one as so wide spread as the iPhone. I'd try another dealer.
I got similar problems with my 2017 NX that navi turned off, radio froze, backup camera got stuck in drive mode....many times. Lexus replaced the display but no helps. They fixed it 4 times and failed. I finally filed for a buy back but lexus denied it saying it is my USB and my galaxy phone, asked me to drive the car without the music and phone connected. I refused to do that since these devices work great on my GX460.
I threatened to sue but my local lexus dealer GM offered me a great trade in so I did for a new RX350. Hopefully I don't get the same issues again.

I used same phone with my other brand name SUV without an issue. The Lexus customer rep I talked today said that they have to back up what the dealership has concluded. She said that "you have an iphone with corrupted data, go ask the Apple people to reset your phone, then try it again". All the BS that I did not accept. The hard thing is this issue don't happen every single day, don't know how to reproduce it. It happened twice on 9/09/2018. By the time I pull out the phone to record a video, the screen and audio came back. Lexus is a big company but I didn't know that their customer service is as tiny as it is; they try to assign the blame and the burden of proof to customer. The issue happened around 5100, 6100, and 8100 miles, or June, July then September. Their logic is also so low: drive without phone or USB for a month, if the issue don't show up then the system is ok, vehicle is not at fault! When you pair your phone to it and the issue later comes up, then it is your phone to blame. I think about another dealer, but they may be connected to the same system and were taught/trained by the same Lexus company.

I'd really would try another dealer, Lexus has to back up their sales network, but they are also dependent on what the dealer tells them, there are knowledgeable dealers and not so, I haven't had any problems with the system, but I don't use USBs and unfortunately for us we are responsible for compliance. The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act is IMO a very biased & flawed law and a similar law doesn't exist anywhere else in the world, you are lucky in this respect and would take advantage of it if you can.
Thanks Cocal, I would try another dealership some day. I first will try to install a camera inside my vehicle to capture the event; then will bring it to the new dealership.
In the previous conversations with the dealership, they even hint that maybe I made up the story. They said something like "show me what happened". It was just a stupid suggestion that I made up the story, if that was their thinking; who would want to leave the brand new vehicle for them to drive home and around town two weeks for no reason!

I truly wish you well! If you can give visual proof even the most inept dealer will have to surrender to that evidence and if they do not YOU have ammunition to go to war with the manufacturer.
Yes, I am thinking that road too. With clear evidence, some lawyers maybe able to argue that navigation shutdown during driving, under some circumstances, could be a dangerous situation. Thanks again for your advice and encouragement.
