Yardie876, since you've been around a while, what do you know about a hydraulic sound in the rear of the 2016 RX after I turn it off? Had a GX for many years and never heard a sound like this. My guess is that it is some kind of leveling option but can't find anything in manual about it. Also, I did read several, many actually, complaints about the noise the air conditioner makes, haven't read if there is a fix though, do you know if there is?

For the air conditioning, yes there is a fix. Point no 3 at the link below:

Hydraulic sound? I know of a sound for the gas pump test when the vehicle is turned off, and it is noisy but normal. Can't remember where I read it.

Default Pump noise after parking vehicle

Have a 450h. Not long after parking the vehicle, there's a pump or actuator of some sort under the hood that comes on for a few seconds then turns off. Comes on maybe 15 or 30 seconds after parking and sounds for only a few seconds. What is that thing?

Default Electric motor running after car parked

At least twice, several hours after the vehicle was parked, turned off and locked, I have heard a small electric motor running in the lower rear of my 2021 base model. Sounded like a small electric air pump. Didn’t run very long, and it started well after the vehicle was parked. What could this be?

I'd say your answer is in the post immediately before yours.

The mods merged my original fresh post into an existing thread, so yes now the answer is obviously there….

Default Motor Humming

The other night I went into my garage and heard this low frequency humming as though a small motor were running. I looked all over the garage for a source and found nothing. I am butted up against a neighbour, and I even stuck my ear to the common wall to see if I could hear anything. Nothing. I could not identify a sound coming from the RX but I thought that this was the last candidate, so I got my key, started it up, shut it down, and - presto - no more sound. Huh? Called the dealer and he had no answers. He said that I would have to bring it in and let it sit and they would check it after hours when all was quiet at the shop to see if they could identify anything. Huh? I have owned this car for 8 months and have never noticed this. Anyone know about this? Quite mysterious.

It was most likely the gasoline evaporation system, or something like that, not sure of the technical term. I hear it occasionally when my RX450h is parked. This is normal.

Check your owner's manual and/or see post #36, above. The sound you hear is normal. On a related note, I wonder if dealer reps get special training in Groundhog Day-style forgetfulness?

Car had been sitting for a couple of hours. Just happened to go into the garage for something else and heard it. It continued for a couple of minutes while I hunted for the source. Once I started it and turned it off, it went away.

Default RX 350 fuel pump buzz noise

Is it normal to be experience this same issue (see thread below) with 4th gen RX 350
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...uzz-noise.html

After about 15 minutes, the sound goes quieter and goes away.

I'm aware that there is a recall on fuel pump, and just wanted to check. I've never heard this noise before in my 4 years of owning this vehicle.
