Buzzing noise when engine is off
When we realized it was the car, we were wondering why it would do that. It lasts for about 2 minutes. But I hear it at about once a month.
Hi,
my 2016 RX has been sitting in the garage since yesterday.
this morning when I was about to leave, I could hear a continuous buzz noise in the garage. I finally found the source coming from underneath the RX, it looks like it’s coming from the catalytic converter but I’m not sure.
I took a video but you need to pump the volume a little to hear it.
I never heard it before, is it something anyone else experienced already?

Yep same noise for me! Thanks for confirming with an actual sound!
I have a 2018 4th generation RX with very low miles (less than 2,000). Couple of times, the vehicle emits a mysterious buzzing tone (as if a fan motor was stuck) from the underside of the vehicle. The noise appears after the engine is shut off parked in the garage. I cannot pinpoint where the buzz tone comes from but definitely from the underside of the RX. This noise happens intermittently but when it comes on it stays on continuously until I start up the RX. The noise disappears when I shut off the engine. It doesn't come back until maybe a few days later. Has anyone had this buzzing noise on your 4th generation RX? Thanks.
Went into the garage to empty the trash, and heard a buzzing noise coming from the rear of the RX.
Not loud, but loud enough that you could hear it.
Started the car, and then shut it off - buzzing stopped.
About 1400 miles and it never did this before.
Ideas?

Hi all,
Bought my new 450h 6 months ago (traded a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid that I owned and loved for 10+ years!). Really love the Lexus so far. However, had an odd situation occur last night, can't find any guidance on it in the owners manual, so thought I'd turn to the experts here.
We noticed an odd humming sound in our garage last evening. Thought it might be our overhead garage lights, air handlers, battery chargers, etc...then realized it was coming from the Lexus, which had been parked in the garage for 6 hours (and yes, the engine was off). I took the car out for a spin; my husband closed the garage door and voila - no more humming.
I know that hybrids do emit all kinds of sounds even after the engine is off, but have never experienced something like this after the car was parked for so long.
Anyone else experience something like this?
Thanks for any and all guidance and advice.
