Default gas pedal "spring" sound

been enjoying 2016 RX AWD 450h for couple of weeks here.

I noticed when i lift off the gas pedal real fast to brake, gas pedal makes "spring" sound. It springs back to rest position while making annoying cheap plastic sound.

You guys have this issue? Try going into your car, and you dont even have to turn on the car. Step on the gas pedal and let go real fast... cheap spring clunk sound.. there must be a fix on this.

paguy - i think it is quality issue - they used cheap plastic parts or cheap spring mechanism. I will bring this up on my first dealer service.

Have you actually got down and looked closely at your pedal while pushing on it to see if you can see what is making the noise. Most do not make this noise so maybe yours and a few others has a problem. If you think Lexus only uses cheap parts, why do you buy a Lexus. I would not for sure!

The 'spring' sound is a 'boing' kind of sound. Happens when you lift off of the peddle quickly. Annoying sound.

well that sucks. wonder if it does it to the F SPORT pedals as well..

Try, with your engine off, sticking your head right near the gas petal and use your hand to press it down all the way and let it snap back.

Maybe that will give you a better idea of what is causing it.

i've had lexus' all my life and didn't notice anything annoying.

My toyota does make a boing sound when I release the brake really quickly.

My F sport RX gas paddle has that spring sound too. In fact, my 2014 IS has that sound too. Maybe that's why I never thought it's a big deal for me as I probably got used to it lol

Car is for my wife. She wanted one. I personally don't like Lexus but that is not the point here. I like to resolve this issue and find solution. Sure other car makers use "cheap" parts too. My 997 Porsche GT3 had Rattling sound from the dash. I would consider that "cheap" quality.

I took a minute and looked at mine. It is the pedal itself making a low "sproing!!" sound when I let off it. It is a metallic noise, so I am guessing that the plastic part of the pedal (the black visible part) is attached to a metal "frame" underneath that is hinged to the floorboard. I noted that if I squeezed the pedal's upper sides with my fingers right as soon as it made the noise, it stopped immediately. So if they're going to fix it I guess they will fab some sort of thing to pinch the plastic pedal better to its frame. I myself am not the least bit bothered by this small imperfection.

The more owners that complain, the faster it gets fixed!

Default Spring in 2016 RX gas pedal makes boing type noise

The Spring in my 2016 RX gas pedal makes boing type noise when released most of the time. I've had it in twice & the're telling me I'm not taking my foot off it fast enough.

Am I wrong or shouldn't there be a way to fix it or replace it?

Thanks
