Default 4RX Mileage Thread

Was checking to see what you really get on the highway in gas mileage. It states 28 mpg. I have a BMW that states 28 mpg but in highway driving I normally get about 30 mpg w/o ac running. This is by measuring mpg after filling tank. The computer read out would sometimes state 32 mpg but when measured on fill up it was sometimes 2 mpg off. Mercedes s class I had stated 26 mpg highway and I got 28 to 30 mpg all the time.
Wondering if RX exceeds mpg rating as well?

Driving both ways to St. Augustine, I got 31.5 mpg at 65 mph. Vehicle only has about 700 miles on it. I could not be more happy. Around town, I am averaging 24-25 mpg.

First full tank and I got 15.6 mpg on Normal mode around the city with lots of stopping 25-30 average speed. I reset the miles and switched to ECO mode to see how much I get in a full tank of Regular 7/11 fuel on the 2016 RX 350.

That's more realistic, I don't know how other people are averaging 23-25 mpg in the city?

My 450h (AWD) consistently is getting between 30.3 and 31.5 mpg on urban streets. Freeway driving stays at 30 mpg if I hang at 60 mph. Drops down to 27.5 - 28.5 at speeds of 70 and higher. Strictly premium fuel.

Second full tank and I got 16.2 mpg on ECO mode around the city with lots of stopping 20-45 average speed.

On Normal mode I got 15.6 mpg.

Is this what would be expected? I never accelerate rapidly and always release gas pedal way before I reach a red light.

I am using Regular fuel from 7/11.

Just switched to Race Trac Regular and will report mpg on ECO. Sport should get me 13-14???

Just took a short trip from Houston to San Antonio (about 180 miles each way) and averaged around 23mpg. I wasn't driving it hard, but I wasn't babying it either. I expect that this figure will improve a bit once everything is properly broken in. In my '14 Tacoma my mileage got much better after a few thousand miles. It's still nowhere near as good as the brand new RX in that department, but it is doing ok for what it is (18mpg average).

I use an Automatic (automatic.com) with my 2016 RX to track mpg. I haven't taken any really long trips yet but for a couple 50 mile highway trips I was able to get a little over 31 mpg. This was driving the speed limit and consistently using the radar assisted cruise control. For short trips around town, I get 11-16 mpg.

Sounds on point. Short trips kill MPG

On a recent 180 mile roundtrip to a local ski resort, i did 23MPG with a Thule Cargo box on the roof. Note, a lot of the trip up there was uphill on the highways, and downhill on the way home.... I drove mostly between 70-80MPH

Default Fuel Mileage

Recent trip checked fuel actual mileage, miles divided by fuel used, not the onboard 'computer'.
Most of the trip, highway 70-76 MPH, Columbia SC to West Palm Beach Fla. , 26.3 MPG.
I'm a happy person!

Vehicle started trip with 2,000 miles on it so not what I would consider 'broken in'. Big improvement
over my 2009.

That is good for sure. Around town I am getting around 21-22 mpg driving it easy.

At highway speed, 60 or under I have seen 28-29mpg. Your 26 at 70 or more is still darn good.

Your using regular fuel? What does your owners manual recommend? The NX calls for premium.

The RX350 only requires regular and the RX450h requires premium.
