Miles per gallon for a full tank on a 2016 Lexus RX 350 while city driving with lots of stops and 35-40 mph with 18" wheels and Bridgestone Ecopia tires filled to recommended pressure 33 psi. 4th full tank will be with 20" f sport graphite wheels with Michelin Premier LTX on 37 psi.

1st tank 15.6 Normal mode OEM gas
2nd tank 16.2 Eco mode 7-Eleven regular gas
3rd tank 15.5 Eco mode Racetrac regular gas
4th tank ???? Eco mode 7-Eleven Regular gas

 

Most likely the reduction in mpg is the winter blend of gas.

 

is everyone basing the mileage on the gauge in the car or doing the actual math from fill up to fill up? The car computer states i was doing 16 mpg after fuel up but when i did my own calculations i was getting 19 mpg. this was mostly city driving.

 

So lexus website states the rx350 has rating of 19 city and 26 hwy for awd. I'm not seeing this even being close to that. It's more like 16 city and 24 hwy like the previous models. Did they expect it to jump up for the newer 8 speed transmission. I've got a older 4runner which claims 16city and 21 hwy which was accurate. but this new claim for lexus is misleading. i took a trip on the hwy and did my calculations and it got close to 22-23 mpg. NO Where near the 26 mpg claims. Same engine new transmission logically might improve mpg ratings but I am not seeing it. Is anyone else seeing this magic 19 city 26 hwy rating or am i unlucky driving like an animal. Even babying the car doesn't reach that number.

 

That's because they let the manufacturer run the test or something. Probably with a fully-warmed up car operating at max efficiency, with a sloth controlling the throttle, using over inflated tires, driving with the wind, with an empty gas tank, no spare tire, and seats removed...

 

It's not as bad with my other cars i've had before. I had a honda crv which was rated at 23 city and 31 hwy and got 23 city like it suppose to get.

 

At 60-65 mph my 2WD 4RX Luxury get 29-30mpg with ease.

 

350 AWD with 20' tires. I get about 15.5-16.5 in the city. Stop and go traffic. I put it on eco and got 17.8. This is calculating using the trip and reading from fuel pump, not the readings from the car itself.......they make no sense to me.

Gas mileage is determined by putting the car on a dynamometer and running the car following an EPA protocol for run time, rate of acceleration, speed etc. Of course it is not possible to have a defined protocol for every type of driver and driving condition, but since all cars are tested using the same protocol the numbers may be of some value in comparing cars.

I'm seeing the same thing as you. I don't think I'm even getting 24 hwy. Granted I usually drive 70-80 mph, but I'm disappointed.

This is coming from the onboard computer vs. manually calculating. I did do a manual calculation on the first fill up, and it came out to be inline with the onboard computer, so I haven't bothered since.

350 AWD, 18" wheels. Car has about 3k miles on it. I'm using regular gas, but that's what's recommended for the 350.

For people seeing much higher mpg, I'm assuming you have 450h vs. the 350?
