Default Tracking by VIN#

Spoke to the dealership a couple of weeks ago and reserved an incoming RX. He told me that the car should be going into production, in Canada like last week.... He also gave me the VIN#. Does anyone know if there is a way to track the progress of said vehicle.....without having to ask the salesman every day. Thx.

So I guess I just don't know how this works...When cars get allocated, does that just show what is going to be produced in the future? Then you can grab one?

I told the salesman which configuration of RX I was looking for and he was able to look at the incoming models being delivered to their specific dealership..... and with that he was able to reserve my RX. He told me that the RX was being manufactured in Canada, and gave me the VIN# along with the specs, as well as when the vehicle would make production with an estimated delivery to their dealership end of this month first of next month.

I remember reading somewhere, maybe this forum, i can't remember... of a new vehicle being tracked by VIN#..... I've read so much lately, though, I might have gotten things confused....
