I'm a little confused on this one...the Lexus site says one thing and the Lexus RX brochure says another.
It says it is an option for the F-Sport on the website as in the first photo, but it says it is part of the F-Sport package on the brochure in the 2nd photo. Which is it?

check the f sport package outline on the website, it has the same ambient light interior setup as well. For some reason the website considers the F-Sport as a package while the brochure treats it as a trim level

Manual refers to it as "door trim ornament" and "instrument panel ornament" (Nav and above glove box) lights.
Any pics?

Bearcat,
When I did a build, it is listed with the F-Sport package. So yes.
Has a bullet point "Ambient lighting for door trim."

That's assuming the Lexus site is correct. Has been a little ***** today. Under "Current offers" it briefly had a lease on the '16 450, now it's back to the '15s.

Ambient lighting is simple the new "mood lighting" every mfg seems to think buyers want. So it literally is LED pipes running in the door panel, grooves near armrest etc You can select from x amount of colors and set them accordingly. So if you feel sporty go fiery red, or if you want a relaxing feeling go dark blue or white etc.
The website states its included in the F sport, but take this with a grain of salt as its janky

I recently took my car in for 5k service and had them make some changes to the special settings. I noticed when I got my car back that one of the settings that I didn't ask to be changed was changed. I went back in and asked them to change it back. All seemed fine but I'm driving the car tonight and I noticed that the ambiance light is no longer lit while I'm driving. It seems to only light up while I put the car in park. So what I'm referring to is the little strip of light right behind the interior door handle and the little strip of light on the passenger side dash. I could have sworn that those lights are always on at night even with the car in motion. I'm wondering if the guy messed up again and inadvertently changed them. Can someone checked their car to see if their lights are also on while driving?
btw, I have the luxury package if that makes a difference.

Can anybody confirm if those ambiance lights (ornament lights as they're referred to in the owner's manual) stay on while driving or only when the car is in park?

On my FSPORT they are at full brightness, which looks great while parked. As soon as I shift to drive, they dim to about 25% and can barely be seen.Originally Posted by t4tran
I have this in my FSport and yes they stay on at night.
What a shame they can't stay lit to full, unless there's some way dealer can adjust this.
Is everyone else seeing the dimming in drive as well?
