Default Bg44k

Have new plugs and gasket with the new transmission fluid. Added the injector cleaner for the next item for engine management and it made a dramatic improvement. The acceleration is much better and overall the pedal is more alive than before.

Amongst the posts I don’t see any mention of anu injector cleaner. I was wondering how durable is this improvement with BG44k if anyone has any experience ?

If you use top tier gasoline (Shell, Chevron, Costco, Mobil, Exxon, Phillips 66, ARCO, BP, QuikTrip, and Valero) you don’t need fuel additives.
“Top Tier gasoline is a premium standard of gasoline containing higher levels of detergent additives than the EPA minimum, designed to keep engines cleaner, reduce emissions, and improve performance. Supported by major automakers like BMW, GM, Toyota, and Honda, it prevents carbon buildup on critical engine components, often costing only a few cents more per gallon.”

After 6 months of ownership and always using Shell and even Shell nitro there was a substantial difference with BG44K. Have you used this additive and not observed a difference or haven’t ever attempted the test?

The additives do work more so than just good Gas. These are some of the Best with PEA. I use Redline because it has high a very high concentration of PEA cleaners.

@jgscott thank you.

BG44K is mentioned as the commercial product of Techron. In regards to Redline how often do you apply the additive? Do you notice any difference immediately?

Techron was known a very good cleaner. The US Military Services gets large Barrels of it to clean its heavy Artillery gun Barrels.

I run a bottle with 1/2 a tank run out just before oil changes. Yes it will clean the Intake and other internal good. I do notice a difference. What lots don't understand is that and some 93 and also some Octane booster every 4-5 months will get the Lexus ECU KCLV Timing (Knock Correction Learn Value) up. That's performance and Efficiency of the engine.

The other thing I would recommend you may like is start running the New Valvoline Protect and Restore motor oil. Google yourself. It really cleans internals also.

Just keep doing what you know works and let the noise go. It's your car.

@jgscott Yes indeed!

I use VRR and am planning to perform the oil change again right after this application of BG44K.

i wanted to mention that Redline, BG44K and Techron all contain naphtha, and not napthalene. I just watched a video where mothballs were being recommended. Those are not the same.

glad to hear that my application was not a placebo! May you drive many miles!

No offence but sounds like a placebo effect. My car “runs better” after a car wash too—you get my point?

Thank you, I will try that too. EFI are listed in scope of the recommended maintenance by Lexus in the guidelines albeit for the Island vehicles but they would only benefit likely all vehicles.
