Well, I lost my backup key in the house or garage.
its killing me.
how can I find it
I have the final key, but no air tag. Any siggestions
i looked for days. It must be somewhere.
unless it was tossed in the garbage:-(
I like the idea and I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't see how the XDRT20 can help me FIND my lost remote. The demonstration video simply shows it 'reading' various remote's output frequencies and displaying them. I don't care what frequency my remote puts out...I just want to FIND it.
I have done a second, very thorough search of the interior of the vehicle and it's getting hard for me to believe that the remote is in there (somewhere), but it must be, because the green light on the start button illuminates when you step on the brake pedal. At this point, I'm totally and completely flummoxed!
She needs to buy another fob and when whoever programs it they can disable the old one. In my area locksmith does this under $100. New fob on ebay $25.
Hi,
I lost (1) FOB, It may be in teh house. just cant find it. (may be in teh garbage for all I know).
I have to get a 2nd fob and have it programed. I see used one's on ebay for $50.00. I will buy the correct one.
But the Lexus Dealer wants $200.00 to re-program.
Can I go to a local place and not Lexus or Toyota? Why would Dealers charge 2x for the programming?
What the best way to find a local programer?
the XDRT is a receiver that should receive signal. The lost key FOB will not transmit signal if battery is dead or if you didn't trigger it to transmit.
See the link from chatGPT above on how to trigger the lost keyFOB. Once the lost keyFOB triggered the XDRT should be able to find it
Hope that help

It has no way to tell you if it is in the front of the car, back of the car, or where it is in the car.
There are heater outlets under the front seats for rear seat occupants. Small objects can fall through the openings in the carpet and can be difficult to retrieve. Move the seats forward all the way and check around the floor vents. Golf tees causing noise inside floor vents.
I went one step further...I checked INSIDE those floor vents...driver's and passenger side. I looked really, really well in this car. I scoured the seat tracks, between the track and center tunnel, every orifice I could find! I spent maybe AN HOUR looking for that remote. I checked every shopping bag, umbrella, piece of clothing, etc. The spare tire well (though the owner was never in there), as well as under the hood, base of the windshield (outside)...and I've come up EMPTY. All I can say is: I'm glad it's not mine. I think she'll have to get another fob and go the reprogramming route. If she can get it done for close to the $125 that Bangler mentioned, it will be 'relatively' painless.
Thanks again everybody for the ideas: this has been a PITA, but now I'm done with it. (except for helping her find a good price for a new fob and reprogramming.)
