I have a 2019 RX 350 that I've only had for a year, or so. Can someone confirm that the "Maintenance Required" message in the middle of the dash that came on at 5000 miles after I believe I cleared all maintenance messages after an oil change is different that an oil maintenance required message at 10K? Assuming so, what does it need at 5K when the oil change is due at 10K?
Edit to clarify: Why is there a maintenance countdown on the odometer counting down from 10K miles when the Maintenance Required warning pops up at 5K?
Thanks!!
Randy

I think what it is is that the previous owner had the oil filter alert set at 10K and the oil change alert set for 5K. Kind of weird that the odometer countdown follows the oil filter, unless that's a third separate thing. Funny how thay put that stuff in the cars to make it easier and it end up being a little harder.
I bought my Lexus as a used car 4 years ago and have never gotten one maintenance schedule warning or message. The previous owner may have turned them off somewhere. I follow the maintenance schedule in the manual. Anyone can do it and it is not rocket science.
A better schedule for your Lexus, one member here Quantum501 has a great Microsoft spreadsheet that makes it very easy. I use it for all maintenance. Check it out: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...nce-blank.xlsx
What's with the attitude about "I'll follow the schedule in the book?" Did I ever say I wasn't going to do that?? I'm simply trying to figure out how to use the tools built in to the car to help make keeping track easier. I mean, why not use something that will pop up on the screen as a reminder/ Geez!!

I believe that there are two different messages that can be shown.
Maintenance Required shows up approximately 4500 miles after it was previously reset.
Oil Maintenance Required shows up when oil change is due. I am not sure if Lexus does this purely at mileage interval (manual recommends 10,000 miles but many of us do at 5,000), or if the vehicle uses an algorithm to determine oil change interval time (I know that some cars do this). I follow my own maintenance schedule that is based upon the owners manual but in some cases such as oil, do sooner than manual recommendation.
I admit that it is somewhat confusing regarding the timing. I do all of my own work so I reset each of these when I do the work.

The two separate maintenance items in the vehicle settings and in the MID are confusing, at least to me. I've done all my own work so far, but confess to not having broken the code on the MID/settings interaction. FWIW, I set all the maintenance items with mileage or dates in the vehicle settings, and reset them when the service is complete. Sometimes that also requires resetting a MID maintenance item, too, but sometimes does not. The infotainment screen pops for upcoming service are thus helpful. Since the vehicle doesn't keep service history, I also maintain a spreadsheet for all maintenance activities and log the service on drivers.lexus.com.

Unfortunately, as I have found out, there are a few members on here who have quite the cocky attitude. Disregard them.......they are most likely making up for their poor self esteem. The majority of members here are pretty sympathetic and helpful.
Pretty sure I've figured this out. My mistake was in forgetting that the vehicle settings and reminders in the navigation screen are completely separate from the settings and reminders in the middle of the gauge cluster. Once I cleared the maintenance reminder in the gauge cluster all seems good. The "wrench" countdown still seems intact.
