Default Android Auto connects sometimes

Hello...

I have a OnePlus 9 Pro phone. Since I got my 2021 RX 350 (6 months ago), connecting to android auto has been hit or miss.

I have tried different cables, shorter ones (3 feet), really good quality ones but the same behavior is seen.

I turn on the car -> connect the phone -> the RX 350 display says android auto is connecting, then doesn't -> after 3-5 seconds it tries connecting again and again.
After about 5 minutes of this, it will either connect successfully, or just not connect at all.

I've also noticed that if I connect my phone before I turn the vehicle on, it has about a 95% chance of connecting right away.

I've taken the car to the dealer, and they applied an update to the head unit, but that didn't do anything.

I'm just wondering if anybody else has run into something like this, or if anybody has suggestions.

Thanks

There's another currently active thread regarding wireless Android Auto. My suggestion is to go that route and use the AAwireless adapter. It's $75 US on Amazon and if doesn't work for you it can be returned.
