I started my 2020 RX350 (36,000 miles) this morning and the engine ran rough, the check engine light flashed, and a warning popped stating that the 4 WD system malfunctioned and was being deactivated. After about 10 seconds everything returned to normal. Has anyone had this experience?

Was your car in a garage or outside? If outside, heavy rain, snow, very cold? I ask that because those things could temporarily affect various sensors.
It may have stored a code to the on-board diagnostic system. If you don't have access to a code reader, Autozone and most of the similar auto parts chains will read them for free. Don't erase it if you do find a code as it will be useful if you need a repair. If you don't find a code it was likely a transient problem that you may not see again. Also, there is a good chance based on your vehicle year and the weather that your battery is on the way out and the act of starting the car dropped the voltage below what was needed for a particular sensor. Again, the auto chains will be able to test your battery.

Good point about the battery. Didn't think of that.
The car was parked in an attached garage last night. The temperature in the garage was in the 40's. This morning i drove the car about 20 miles. I then parked it outside, temps in the 30's. The car started and ran just fine when I started it at about 7:00 pm. Maybe the problem is a one time issue. Next time the car is in for service I'll have the battery checked.
