2017 Rx350 won't start
Wife and I both have Covid and the car has sat in the garage for a week. Yesterday I needed to go to the Post Office and got an error message . when I tried t start the car. I AM GETTING A BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT AND SIGNAL IT APPEARS THERE IS A PROBLE WITH THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE. AND TO CONTACT THE DEALER. The dealer is 70 mles away and the car in no longer under warranty. Any brilliant ideas.
If your 350 is anything like the 450H models, it goes through a check list of items before it attempts to start. If the battery is weak, then it gets false diagnostic results. One of the tests is to determine if the brakes are working. Charge the battery or jump the car. With a good power supply it will then get the kind of results it is looking for allow the car to start.

If it's the original battery even if you get it started with a jump 6 years old is way past its life expectancy. Usually batteries last around 4 years I'd get a new one today.
It is worthwhile to have a simple voltmeter to test the battery voltage as a first diagnostic step (including any batteries around the house for that matter). I also find an inexpensive battery load tester to be a useful tool to monitor older batteries so they get replaced at the appropriate time. Invariably, the alternative is learning this lesson the hard way usually when you are away from home and least expect it.
