Potential new owner with CPO question/concerns
Greeting everyone, I am hoping to purchase used RX 350 F sport soon.
I'm on the verge of picking up a 2021 RX 350 F sport handling. The car has only 5K miles on it and it is a CPO vehicle.
However, i just found out now through My Lexus service records (available from their service website) that the owner must hit the front passenger real hard that the following parts were replaced: DESCRIPTION: ~|~RIGHT FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT BENT ~|~ ~|~REMOVED OLD BALL JOINT AND REPLACED WITH NEW
DESCRIPTION: ~|~RIGHT FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM BENT ~|~ ~|~REMOVED OLD CONTROL ARM AND REPLACED WITH NEW ARM
DESCRIPTION:~|~RIGHT FRONT STRUT BENT ~|~ ~|~REMOVED OLD STRUT AND REPLACED WITH NEW
DESCRIPTION: ~|~RIGHT FRONT WHEEL DAMAGED AND BENT ~|~ ~|~MOUNT AND BALANCE NEW TIRE ONTO NEW RIM.
DESCRIPTION: ~|~TIRE DAMAGED ~|~ ~|~MOUNT AND BALANCED 1 TIRE NEW DOT#7X8AEC13821
DESCRIPTION: ~|~WHEEL ALIGNMENT OUT OF SPEC ~|~MAINTENANCE ~|~PERFORMED FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT. TEST DROVE VEHICLE. VEHICLE DRIVES STRAIGHT AND STEERING FEELS NORMAL.
Admittedly, I'm getting this car at below private party value and it is a CPO car. should I be very concerned with these parts replaced? Of course none of these replacement services detail were reported to carfax.
I appreciate any inputs.

He obviously hit something really hard, probably a deep pothole. Personally I would wonder about the effect of the hit on the front wheel drive components (CV joints, etc.). But if you are a getting the full warranty, any failures of those items should be covered. It wouldn't hurt to ask about it. I also wonder how the rear wheel missed whatever the front wheel hit. You might ask them to confirm that the rear wheel and its related suspension are completely undamaged.

Thanks for your suggestion on those questions, i would definitely ask today
I doubt they will be telling me anything more than what already listed in the service log. I am torn since this is the color combo I want (nepula gray with red). The car basically will have 4 years warranty and I’m getting it for 47k with 5k miles on the odometer.
Agree with all of the above. I would add that I think CPO is just another dealer gimmick to make you think you are getting something special so that you will pay more. I bet they spend about 20 minutes glancing at most of those cars before they label them CPO. The only benefit would be if you get some additional warranty advantage with that label but, even then, you will be paying for that in the end. I would put very little stock in the words CPO when you are evaluating your deal.

It might not be considered problematic now, but at some point in the future, those repaired items might rear their ugly heads. Don't know what the values of your potential car are, but I'd say it would have to be a very good deal. Very good. Otherwise I'd pass on it. YMMV.

My mechanic friend also advised me to ask them to run an alignment diagnostic test just to confirm the alignment is ok after all these parts were replaced.

I bet the first owner felt the car was not right and traded it in soon after getting it fixed. IMO i would not touch it at all because if it isnt right your stuck with it,but you did save a few grand? but your stuck with it! good luck..
very valid point. I’m taking my mechanic friend to do the test drive with me in the next hours. We will find out. He said in general if the the parts were replaced by dealer then it should be ok but we gotta check to see if there is any frame damages which he thinks it’s very very unlikely from hitting a curb
IMO if you are going to drop near $50k with fees and taxes on this car at least have a body shop inspect the frame for any damage. Cars today use all different compounds for the frame and connecting components that could be effected by a very hard hit. There have been many cars totaled from far less of a impact and only found by a inspection by a qualified body shop.

thank you all for your inputs. I’m sure the right one will come along eventually
