I caught a flat and failed to take the tire off of my 2012 RX 350 with the OEM lug wrench due to overtightened lug nuts.
Cashier at autozone showed me on the computer that I need M12 1.5 but the kid didn't know which one that was. Google search told me rx350 takes 21mm so I got that. It did not work. It fit around the nut but it wasn't a hexagon shape. It had a lot of ridges. Can anyone link me or
point me to the correct socket that will help me get the tire off? Also if anyone can explain what the M12 1.5 stands for.

Reason: grammar and more infor
You must have non-Lexus lug nuts any good auto parts store should be able to supply you with the correct socket. M means metric 12 is the diameter of the lug, 1.5 denotes the thread pitch in this case 1.5mm from thread to thread.

The autozone near me had 2 young kids in the entire store at a very busy location. Although nice kids, they didn't seem knowledgable. Best he could do was look up car info on the computer but had no idea which one I needed. He thought the 1.5 had to do with the length of the socket. How can I use the info to find the correct breaker bar socket? The one I have is a Duralast 24in with a 1/2 inch drive. Not sure what the 51-212 means.
Upon further research I learned that I have a 12 point socket which is fine to put on a hexagon bolt I believe. The size does seem to fit over the bolt but the bolt might just be too tight to come off.
M12 x 1.5 refers to the diameter of the threaded portion of the bolt. It does sound like you have some aftermarket wheel bolts. Do post a photo. Although a 12 point socket may not fit a standard wheel bolt. All of mine are 6 point or sided. That is what you need.
The wheels take a 21MM 6 point lug nut socket. I have a set of nonmarking ones from Harbor Freight. Both my Lexus vehicles and my Toyota all take the same 21MM socket. The locking nut needs the key which also takes the 21MM socket. Here are photos of my well worn socket and a link to HF which sells a set for about $54. Or you can buy a single 21MM nonmarking socket at Amazon for about $6 or $8. Below are the item titles on Amazon so you can search.
