Default Powered Rear Hatch?

The electrically-powered rear hatch on my 2012 RX-350 works well in all modes (e.g., key fob, dash switch, hatch switch for CLOSE only, etc.) except that it does not power OPEN from the closed/locked position when I push the hatch-OPEN button located inside the rear license plate opening. I seem to recall that this particular function needs to be programmed by the dealer (or so says the owner's manual)? How can I get the power OPEN function to work when I use the hatch-OPEN button near the rear license plate? Thanks!

You answered your own question. You have to go to the dealer as only they have access to your vehicle software to make that work.
Or just use the remote in your pocket.

Well you answered his question incorrectly. A cable and the programming software will provide this function without going to the dealer.

Yeah, but you then have to make a (probably) larger investment in stuff you may never use again which also may require more involvement or skills or beyond those interests of DHeal.

I also think Carista may allow you to do this but decided not to mention it previously, but since you bring up self-help options. https://caristaapp.com/vehicles/lexus/rx/3rd-gen
