We have owned the car new since 2007. The external switch above the license plate no longer opens the rear hatch. The button on the dash and the key still work. The button on the door to close it still works. I have cycled the rear door several times using the dashboard and key button. I get no response from depressing the rubberized switch above the license plate.

Suggestions and does anyone know how to go about replacing this switch?

blown fuse perhaps?

Unless the fuse is just for the switch maybe, but like I said the door works perfectly using evey button except the one above the license plate.

Same problem here, did anyone fixed? Remote and interior buttons work but the one external above license plate doesnt.

I would guess a loose connection in the hatch panel. You can find a how-to access it by searching for license plate bulb replacement.
