Hello there,
I started my car the other day (coldest day of the year) and it made a strange noise and the radio, phone along nav. screen went black and stopped working, after about 1/2 hour of driving, the screen turns on and a pix of a hard drive pops up and message saying "hard drive rebooting, do not turn off" The lexus logo appears and then screen goes blank again for another 1/2 hour,
I've been browsing how tos around the net and few people had similar issues but ether on different year or different models. I tried disconnecting the battery, and Lexus services wants to replace the hole radio and hard drive costing over 4K
Anyone here have same problem? and how did you solve it?
Thanks, Peter

Sounds like the issue I had. My fix was a new hard drive at about $950 Canadian.
I would try see if they would be interested in the hard drive replacement option or seek another dealer to ask.
Or replace with a used system if you do have to replace everything http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/ and get an independent shop to install it as I doubt a dealer would.

I might go to a different dealer and see what they have to say, my usual dealer wanted to start replacing the radio first and then the hard drive, and did not want to put any used parts on it.
has anyone tried just reinstalling the operating system ?
is there such a thing?
Cause the logo comes on, and the rear view camera screen works, as well as the heating system (not the temperature control)(its stuck on whatever temperature before it broke)
Hi ColAngus, I dont have any updates on my car, I've been too bust whith home reno, and it has been too cold to work outside in the cold wether
