The Rx 350 has 235/55-19 summer tires. I have winter tires, 235/65-17 that I used on a 2009 Venza which also had 19" summers. Can the winter tires be used on the Lexus. They are mounted on Toyota steel rims.

Go to TireRack.com. Choose the tire & size you have & look at the specs. It will give you a tire height which is directly related to the overall diameter.
Compare to the tire size on the RX. I would expect the 17" wheels would fit but do the same by comparing rims from one car to another.
Not sure if TireRack has this but Costco online does.

If your 17" steel wheels fit your Venza they should also fit your RX since both came with 35mm offset wheels and have similar and maybe even identical brakes although I didn't check the cross reference.

According to the 1010tires.com size calculator, the tire size on your 17" wheels is ideal for your RX.

you need to also check the load rating for the tire. the rx is heavy enough to require suv/crossover tires and not just any passenger car tire that fits. I think the venza is a heavier vehicle too though so very likely the tires for that will still be proper for the rx, but you should doublecheck

It is not an F-Sport. It's Sportdesign with a Touring package which includes 19" wheels.

I am looking at buying my first Lexus - a 2015 RX350. Do you have to buy snow tires? or check to see if the tires are "all weather'? I live in MA - never owned snow tires before so I guess I've always had all weather ones....

Answer is based on your local conditions & your confidence level.
We're a bit NE of you & run dedicated snow tires for the Winter, however, we see some pretty brutal Winters.

To keep it simple, snow tires are a must for a Rear Wheel Drive vehicles, while optional for FWD/AWD*. RX350 happens to be the latter.

I run dedicated snow tire set for extra safety and not to expose nice original wheels to corrosion. I did drive our RX450h on new Michelin Premier LTX through the worst ice storm last winter and it fared OK. I really missed having snow tires, though.

*Unless equipped with [performance] summer tires.

You may never slide into something in the snow/ice with all-season tires, or get stuck, or feel unsafe. If you never do, snow tires would be a waste. If any of those things do happen, you'll wish you had spent the money. As I explained to my wife, as a car guy, I believe snow tires are a smart thing and I have no excuse if I neglect to get some and something bad happens.

I haven't driven an AWD in the snow in many years prior to getting the RX350, and I've never driven an AWD with snow tires before the RX. I can tell you it's AWESOME!!!! I did not drive the RX in the snow without snow tires, so I can't say how much of the awesomeness is due to the tires, but I'm betting they played a worthwhile part.

The last 2 years in NY are the first time I've lived north of the Mason-Dixon, so the little snow I saw was handled by all-season tires and I got by fine, but I'd never describe the experience as awesome. YMMV.

nokian are best snow tires after living in alaska for 4 years...maybe other alaskans differ?
