Looked through the nav manual, don't see it referenced. Miss the simple compass display in the mirror - is it displayed anywhere else?
If you click that red/white North arrow thing in the display, it'll switch to North always = up/top. From there, you should be able to gauge what heading you're at.
Is that what you are asking?

Sorta, not really. I'm a pilot. In my BMW's and in my wife's Avalon, they've had a display (the Avalon has it in the mirror) showing N, S, E, W, NW, etc. Be nice if the RX had it in the mirror, or maybe in the display between the speedo and tach.
(Funny, I looked in the nav manual last night, but there is nothing in the index under compass).
Color me simple. When I'm driving around town, I don't display the map. Thus my hope that the compass was displayed in a simpler format somewhere else. Hard to imagine the mirror display would have added another $20 to the cost of the vehicle.
That's why I LOVE PDF's (they called me the PDF King at the office - I ran a Market Research and Planning Dpt - and had nearly everything PDF'd - replete with cross-documents master index).
I haven't taken the time to learn how to replicate that magic on my iPad, however - so I simply search document by document - but it still beats schlepping around the printed manuals.
^^^ Good stuff. I'm a flight deck design engineer, so that's why I asked.
Given your location, I'm guessing your company starts with B. Which ships? I actually work for the gov't, rhymes with EFF A A.... lol. Safety Inspector for GA.. Rode on a couple 737-300's the other day... old stuff, lol

Exactly. I've completely stopped using my paper manuals. I just go online and use the digital copies so I can use the search/find function.
