i have a 2013 rx 350 with back up camera navigation poped a dvd in and put the foot brake on and there was no movie play
is it certain models can play dvd movies

 

Try Parking Brake on.

 

My 2015 shows an option on the build sheet....

EK Premium Audio DVD for Factory Navigation

Not sure if that came with the Navigation Package or an extra.

PS. What Nate said. Just happened to have the manual laying here.

1. The vehicle is completely stopped.
2. The power switch is in accessory or on.
3. Parking brake is applied.

 

i put the parking brake on no picture ,is the dvd play standard

 

i believe its mark levinson only.

 

I just tried mine and it told me 'check disc'. That being said, the only one I could find was a BluRay disc, so maybe that was it. I'll find another and test it tomorrow.

Sorry, no, I should have been more explicit. It did NOT play for me, but I'm guessing it is because it was a Blu-Ray. I'll try a non-Blu-ray tomorrow.

 

Regular flavor DVDs play just fine on the premium sound with the parking brake on and being stationary.
I had a hard time getting DVD-R+ to play. Originals have no issues.
