Anybody changed the support bar in the power gate?
I have a 2010 RX 350 and it seems like my support bars in the rear lift gate do not support the gate as it used to be. i have to push the gate up each time I open the gate in order for it to go up all the way. My motor is still working fine. Does anybody know how to change the support bars in the RX? I think those support bars are hydraulic.

I installed those supports a few months ago. Definitely helped the lift but the valving is off. It should slow down at the end of it's travel, but it almost 'slams' open. Just have to use my hand to keep it from doing that, but so much easier to open. Still worth it considering no other options except dealer. It installs like any other lift strut. Best to have an assistant hold of the rear hatch as when you remove one, that hatch is heavy!

I've used several sets of LiftMasters from Amazon in my previous cars. They always work great till they die untimely deaths. They are less expensive, but don't last nearly as long. I got two years from each set. Unlike OEM, which start to sag a bit at the end. The after markets just die. Just so you know what you are getting into.

Thanks, I'll start looking for OEM ones next, the original ones lasted 200k best I can tell, if they were original, but they did fail gradually.

My 2013 tailgate doesn't go up automatically when I press the open button on the rear gate. Is it suppose to go up auto without pulling it up? The key remote auto opens it fully and same with the open button on the interior

No, I don't play soccer!
Sean, the tailgate might not be programmed to open when pushing on the button. Take a look at #31 in the Lexus Personalized Settings. If you ask the dealer to do it, they might charge you for it. Or check out the Carista app. It allows you to change many of the settings yourself.
