If you go to the Lexus website, look under the My Lexus link (Manuals/Resources-Navigation Maps) it says updates are $169. Not sure where your dealer came up with the $350 fee.

My 2010 rx map data prior when I purchased it read v.8.1 meaning 2008 map data.

The newest map data version, as far as I know, that Lexus offers is v.14.1 meaning 2014 maps.

I finally get my vehicle drive away and I see that everything looks exactly the same. I then checked what map data version I had and it read v.8.1.
I went right back to dealer and service rep. Tells me Lexus updates entire system not just data. The data version in car will not change but internally it has been updated. He said there is no way to know if it's updated.
I am bit busy now but I will do some research on this and find out if Lexus of Queens is full of it.
So far if this is what I paid 368 dollars for, it's not worth updating. I'll keep u guys posted
I just bought a 2013 ES300h and part of the deal was they would update the nav system. When I got in the car and displayed the latest version it was not showing 14.1. The service department insisted I had the latest update. I left and got home and it did not seem correct. I scan the map to where a toll road and been built two years ago. It was not on the map. I took it back and they updated it again which now shows 14.1 and the fairly new toll road. They said it appeared to update but something happen to the update.

The rest is the labor. The process is so convoluted, you can't do it yourself without special tools.
My RX had to go in twice and I spent 3 days with a loaner to get mine updated.

I was going to update my 2010 RX that came with 2009 maps. Dealer wanted $200. I declined and have a nice Proclip mount for my iPhone 6s Plus. Makes a much better nav setup.

On a recent trip in downtown Chicago the Lexus directions were better than using Google Maps on an iPhone at the same time.
Does this function require an Enform subscription?

Default Updated dvd etc

Local Toyota dealership can get from Lexus for $199 and install I charge. Still high imho . Anyway said version could be nearing a year old so holding off for now. Will use 2009 version in our 2010 and IPhone etc etc on upcoming trip. May update later in winter.

Default my actual cost today for Nav update, 2010 RX350

Decided to update after traveling to a couple of places that were not on my 5 year old map. My actual pre-sales tax costs:

169.93 V15.1 NAV MAP UPDATE
164.40 Labor
334.33 Total

I don't mind $160 for the map. It's reasonable. The extra $9.93 is laughable. One of Augustine's Laws of Estimating (Norman Augustine) is to always end a price with a 7 or a 3 to add the illusion of precision. The labor charge was a flat fee (also oddly precise looking) so we don't know how little time this actually took to put the disc in, push a button and watch it load. My dealer charges $80 an hour for labor, so I guess somebody sat in my car for exactly 2 hours 3 1/3 minutes.

So I'm guessing they don't give you the actual disc or that you could have bought it and done it yourself?

I believe you get a key on a USB stick, and that's what you can buy yourself. Loading the data is proprietary, probably through a TechStream unit.

That is nuts! Sorry, but for me Waze and an iPhone 6s Plus mounted with a Proclip mount on the dash is WAAAYYYY more useful, including police, traffic, accidents, road hazards etc.. The Lexus NAV, which I have, does none of that. And Waze is free!! I have a 2010 RX350 and would not pay to update it for 1/2 of what you paid.
